Pep Guardiola To Manage Manchester City

It should be known by now that every elite manager from the Jose/Pep era is washed out now and overrated. None of them bring what's going to be needed for the next 5-10 years, and none of them seem to lay the foundations for anything anywhere they go. This is a journeyman move from them, and at most they'll get one title or 2, just like us.

Fear the new faces, not the old ones.

Seriously people need to understand that we don't really need a manager with a big name to compete for the title. Chelsea has quality players already. Just because we have one very bad season doesn't mean we are miles behind Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal and City.

No team can function without a manager, that is the basic need of a football club. We will be miles behind if we don't bring a good manager

Don't put words in to my mouth. I didn't say we don't need a manager. I said we don't need a manager with a big name

Managers with big names help in bringing world class players to the club. They are also reliable and much less of a bet

I'm just proving a point. We are a big club, we can still attract good players as long we play Champions League football. Yes a manager with a big name helps, don't get me wrong but don't act like it's the end of the world if we don't get have one.

But what if we don't reach the champions league this season

In case they stay here you mean...that's my biggest worry about losing out on the CL qualification.

nowadays .... a bit of wonga seems to bring class players to just about every club in the PL.

Big name managers can be quite unreliable as well.

Many have gone to clubs and failed

Mourinho must be relieved he doesn't have to deal with Pep in the Premier League. I bet all the stuff about loving the England and wanting to stay stop now.

But he will have to deal with Pep. He will go to United.

Cant see any reason to be worried...Guus and the coaches are bringing us the CL ;-)

Just looking at recent happenings at our club and City's is comical and hugely depressing.

Chelsea: Sold Cech to direct and hated rival who are currently title favorites. Sign Falcao, Djilobodji, Hector, Pato, and a backup keeper. Sack our greatest ever manager against the supporters' wishes and put him in prime position to sign for another direct rival. Hand one of the seasons worst performers a contract extension whilst not offering the club legend and captain one.

City meanwhile have signed De Bruyne for £55m (another genius move from us letting him go) they've signed Sterling for £50m, they've expanded their stadium knowing it'll bring in more money so they can pump it back into the club, and they've appointed arguably the world's best manager that should set them up as the team to beat for the next 3 years. They showed more ambition after missing out on the title than we did after winning it. Incredible.

We have to just pray that our board and owner have a rock solid plan in place for our beloved club. They'll look like absolute idiots if they don't.

Well, I wonder whose decision was to let De Bruyne go. Or Mata. Or Luiz.

That random defender I'd never heard of from the Championship or League One or who the fuck knows. Someone we'll never see in a Chelsea shirt.
