Magic Lamps 11,692
bertrand traore has quote saying he doesnt mind playing has a left back Lolz. He is a striker ffs. BTW the deal takes that long because, for Augsburg it is the deal of the century and they want to milk us for every penny.

A small blade that works ok. A Jack of all trades and a master of none!I'm all for a AM that switches L to R or a LB that goes to RB it keeps opponents on their toes but an attacker we play as a defender is daft. Pizy 18,914
It's insane that we STILL haven't signed a LB yet when we've known for weeks, if not months that we've needed one with Luis going. The season starts tomorrow and if Azpi gets injured we'll have no fullback in the squad to cover. We'll then have to play someone there who's totally uncomfortable and will be a huge liability. What the hell are the club doing?

Reddish-Blue 2,506
Why are we so slow in the transfer market for players we need?We need a LB yet we haven't signed one....but on the other hand, we didn't really need a washed up Falcao but that deal was done fairly quickly... Monaco didn't want him back, and no other team was willing to pay his wages, even at 50% off. In this deal, and the Stones deal, we have no leverage. They know we need the players (well, I don't think we need Stones, but Chelsea apparently do) and they know we will have to pay, so they are all waiting it out to get as much money as possible. pretty simple, really. Unless the player really wants out, we can't do anything.

For all we know, negotiations to sign Rahman are going well and it's just a matter of timing. The facts of the matter is though, that this isn't the biggest priority. Mou isn't replacing Azpilicueta anytime soon at LB, so he's happy to wait for the signing of his understudy.

the wes 7,212
The agent of Chelsea target Baba Rahman has confirmed his client wants to play for Chelsea as soon as possible. The Augsburg defender is reported to be on the verge of joining the Premier League side after the club recently sold Filipe Luis back to Atletico Madrid.Ghana Soccernet have reported on comments Baba Abdul Rahman made to the German media in which he said Chelsea and Augsburg are still in talks with regards to the left back arriving in England. He said the Ghana international want to play for the Premier League side but the situation has become a burden for the player. His agent went on to say Baba wants the move to Chelsea sorted quickly because the player is keen to play for the West London side.“The clubs are still negotiating, Baba wants to play for Chelsea. That is clear and understandable. The whole situation is a burden to him, there must be a rapid solution now, “said Baba’s agent on the current situation with the player moving to Chelsea. With Luis leaving Chelsea last month to re-join Atletico Madrid after just one season in the Premier League Chelsea have been on the lookout for a new left back. They have been linked with the likes of Alex Telles from Turkish giants Galatasaray but it looks like Baba will the one to come in to fill the void left by Luis. Magic Lamps 11,692
Average today...Not surprising. The suckers from Augsburg played him despite him having muscular problems and mentally being in Cobham already. If he had contracted an injury, the deal would have been off. And they risk that for a game vs a 4th tier team. I also believe that Baba is one of those players who gets better with the quality of oppositions. He did most mistakes last season vs smaller teams having his best games against the bigger ones.
