Radamel Falcao

I would be happy with this transfer. High risk, high reward and Chelsea currently is in a fantastic financial situation.

On the side note, Monaco could be for us what Athletico was last summer if we decided to buy Kondogbia/Moutinho as well. Striker + midfielder and our transfer business could be finished again months before the deadline. Kondogbia would be a back-up for Matic and Moutinho would be a back-up for Cesc. Which do you guys think is more important to buy this summer?

Im not saying that Falcao is a bad player. And I do think that given time and regular games with a good manager he might get back to a good level but we cant afford to be the ones to take that gamble on him can we? If he was a few years younger and we could afford to take a year or 2 to bring him on then yeah lets do it. But we need a guy ready to fight now. We already have 2 strikers with injury problems do we need another? Might as well keep a 37 year old with no legs or lung capacity but with an enormous heart.

Not get ahead of ourselves with Remy? More like people are just under-appreciating him despite having scored goals and put in the performances for us.

It's probably because he isn't fancy enough that people feel the need to discard him for someone with a bigger name.

There are players who do well for their national teams but not their clubs. Form at international level doesn't mean much if you can't replicate it at club level. Just ask Podolski, for instance.

Falcao is more risky than any possible deal we might be doing because of his form and injury in recent seasons.

Under appreciating him how? Some just think he is a decent option who will get us goals when he's needed, nothing wrong with that, and saying he isn't on Costas level isn't under appreciating him either.

That's one thing I've noticed about Chelsea on all forum's I've been on, any decent squad player fan's tend to instantly overrate and suggest shoe horning him into the first Xl, there was even times last season where some were suggesting giving Schwarzer a run of games as #1.

I would love to have Kondogbia or Moutinho. I dont see them as only back ups, but as the option for the games we approach more conservatively, the extra CM instead of Ramires/Mikel who usually gets picked in those games.

Remy might not be on Costa's level but he has proved more than adequate enough to lead the line when given the opportunity (mind, not saying he should be first choice). But yet, people think he should be moved aside for someone like Falcao even though the current situation shows Remy is in way better state and form than Falcao.

Benteke was absolutely abysmal first half the season. There's no proving he wouldn't replicate that poor form here.

I'd be very happy if the Falcao deal is a loan. Costa, Remy. Falcao as our front three options is pretty mouth watering.

Benteke just came back from a 3/4 month injury, of course he won't be blazing at the start of the season.

What a useless signing, God. I would be very annoyed if this wasn't a loan signing at most.

I'm sure it will be. We won't be buying him straight out, if the board have any sense.

I know this is the least factor when we buy a player, but how is Falcao marketing value nowadays? Do you guys think he will improve our shirt sales significantly?

I don't think shirt sales work that way tbh. If someone buys a Falcao shirt then they probably wouldn't buy a Hazard shirt for example.

And I'm really doubting this move. Wasn't he named in the Copa America squad? If so, wouldn't that mean he has effectively no preseason with us?
