Radamel Falcao

Please god no. Torres II.

I've always said that if we wanted Falcao he should've been bought when he left Porto. Now after a massive injury, questions over his age, severe drop in performance, ridiculous price and wages he should not even be considered.

I can see a scenario where he comes, we sell Bamford - Falcao flops and Bamford bangs them in for fun. It would be typical.

A guy like that cannot simply lose it in one year. Unless he did a Torres knee thing. I wonder what happened with him.

Thing is that it was his knees. It was his cruciate ligament back around 14 months ago. His decline has looked a tad similar to Torres to so I'm wary.

But like others have said, if Jose and the scouting team think he's good enough then I trust in our medical teams and I trust in Jose.

Over at the Utd fanbase, some are fearing that Falcao would bang in goals for fun for us and make them look stupid. Being apprehensive is common for all fanbase. Especially after the season KdB has had, I can understand the sentiment. However, for every KdB, there's a Schurrle. So, let's not think about what Bamford might or might not do if he's let go. If Bamford's good enough he will either cement his place like Cortouis did or in case we sell him, we'll happily admit our mistake and bring him back like we did with Matic.

I'm not sure letting Matic go was a mistake at all, because he completely reinvented himself as a player at Benfica. It's difficult envisioning him hitting that development curve while being stuck in the u21s here or out on loan at whichever club we would have let him go to. The only thing I hope we've learned from that whole ordeal is to insert buy back clauses and ensure we don't have to pay through the nose for a mistake. I believe we have done so with Thorgan Hazard?

Yep we did.

I don't see the excitement surrounding this lad. He's a past it, man united reject whom we're not interested in. Drogba got 26 games thus season. If Bamford's not happy with that at a top club at the age of 20 or whatever he is then he'll have to have a few years' patience out on loan while we wait for him to be ready to start 30 or 40 matches a season.

And that includes factoring in the risk that we buy a replacement who is more willing to play such a role.

It's not just that, it's about buying players with value - players in their prime, not players who have clearly left their best years behind them. I have never seen a player single-handedly rip apart Chelsea like Falcao did, but those days are long gone regardless of his injury or form.

He's third choice not first!

Who can come in here and do that role for us?

We're going to be paying at least 150-200k a week for a third-choice striker? And a player of Falcao's supposed calibre is happy with being 3rd choice? Yeah, you're really winning me over!

I think Falcao is still a good player despite his bad spell at United, but he's probably not the best option for us. We should be looking at a more physical striker like Didier. We had some of the best performances from our attacking midfielders when Drogba was playing as a target man pressuring the center backs.

To be honest Falcao is a huge improvement on 2015 version of Didier Drogba. Falcao and Costa played together in Atlético and they understand each other.

Not sure why the usual crying babies are against this:

His current form over the past season or two. Let's hope he reaches the level he was once at whilst in Madrid (should he come to us).

-He's been bad ever since his ligament injury.. You'd think we've learned lessons after Torres.

-We basically never play 2 strikers so Costa and Falcao understanding each other means very little

-Drogba was 37 and on relatively low wages; Falcao at 29yo and monster wages as 3rd striker makes no sense. If we should sell Remy this would seem less crazy but I don't see why we would.

I think the crybabies have reason to be critical of this signing.
