magic weeds 446
Can't blame them, not after the last time we raided them (José Mourinho era)I think the 2 portuguese clubs should really be hating us. we've been raiding them for quite some time. Guest justin_3d
LMAOfor how long.. he's another 30+ who has no future here.Yossi was a poor signing, and he will be nothing more than a squad player this season.2 years till Josh is better form to take over. I mean, how many games did he play last season? He was injured for most of the campaign, which just tells you that he's injury prone. What I will say however, is that when called upon, he puts in great performances. He's the closest we have to a playmaker at the moment, and is able to unlock Torres' true potential at times.Don't believe me? Then I advise you to watch the Chelsea v West Ham highlights last season where Torres scored!

Tortilla9 390
@portugoaldotnet on twitter (follows portugual)"For the moment Falcao to Chelsea is just rumour, albeit very widespread & incessant rumour. No agent/club/player quotes on it""A lot of the players pledged future to Porto on back of AVB's committment to staying"Also says Correia d Manha stupendously unreliable. If they printed today was Thursday he'd double check.

chrismada9 1,948
Either way, another big club would have ended up signing them. At least with us they recieve relatively large transfer fees.Exactly!Porto know how to replace players. Their club is like a snake shedding its skin. When the old skin is gone, they instantly produce a new one. In other words, when big name players get removed from their squad, they are immediately replaces with younger players, and they are moulded into their team to be made into bigger names.I know that Alex (BlueLion) follows Lyon partially, and a couple years ago, he touched on the fact that Lyon have a very similar policy to this. Their youth setup is immaculate. With developing the likes of Benzema, Gassama, Sissokho, etc.

chrismada9 1,948
I really cant see Torres succeeding here. Why are you saying that? The main core of the problem regarding Torres is the fact that we have no playmaker! You wouldn't be saying that if either Moutinho or Modric joined us. Tomo 21,751
I think were being a bit to harsh on Torres, having said he needs competition making him un-disputed first choice striker is too massive a risk.
Blue Armour 4,439
I think a lot of you are going to horribly wrong about which players are going to be useful and which ones are actually going to leave...AVB said he is only going to meet up with the current squad next month, and will be most likely assessing their motivation levels/commitment and judge their usefulness for next season over the course of the pre-season.I have no doubt he will shift out players if he feels they aren't useful...he did so at Porto with Raul Meireles and Bruno Alves ( Portuguese even)..but won't do so without much consideration..Unlike some of us fans he isn't biased for or against any player...I'm just saying.... Most of his goals for Liverpool came courtesy of Gerrard.

laura 6
I am fed up with Chelsea linked only with strikers ( and one winger we sent on loan). Dont get me wrong, Falcao is very good striker and sadly we dont have any striker in form so he is not luxury, but when will we search for winger and creative midfielder? Without superb winger(s) and creative midfielder , every strker will fail at Chelsea. Scums are there where they are, mostly because they have best wingers in EPL , who provide them best attack and scoring in late period of match, when they need most. Scourses have Suarez and allegedly they are getting Mata. They will have better wingers than scums! And we? If something doesnt change we wil l be behind no matter how good striker we have (on paper). When (or will) our board get this?

Even if he succeed and scores the winning goal in a CL final, you'll never see me wearing a shirt with his name.As long as he is a Chelsea's player I want him to score goals, but at the same time I want him to play elsewhere. Fair enough. But if Falcao comes in soon, that kinda blows his assertion that he'll review the squad before making any major decisions out the water, no? And if AVB brings in Falcao, you don't think he won't be biased towards him compared to the other strikers here?
