Muzchap 8,966
Ok - seems like a lot of people are getting confused with the Falcao deal.Essentially this is like HP (Hire Purchase) - it's the same as buying a car You can walk into a showroom and stick a few grand down (our €5 million) and drive away in a brand new car (Falcao joining us) - you are then committed to monthly payments (wages we pay him) at the end of the term (season for us), you have the option to buy the car outright at the agreed value, referred to as a 'balloon payment' (the €30 million Monaco are quoting) - or, you simply hand back the keys and walk out (you could also use any difference in the balance against a new car - that doesn't work here )So it's a pretty normal 'deal' structure I doubt very much that we are willing to pay that balloon payment so I expect a one season wonder. which is fine as other players should be breaking through from the Acadamy, or other targets will be more viable. ChelseaFanUK 1,014
Ive been looking at us getting Falcao with a bit of a negative view. Ive just gone through a Rags forum reading their interesting comments on him. And while theres an awful lot of haters with their negative views there was also alot of pro Falcao also and they gave their reasons (not like the haters that just quoted the no goals comments). They commented on how he never got any real playing time. How he never got any support from LvG, how he was used in wrong ways and not given support fron the AMs, how he needed time to settle into the premiership like DiMaria and Tevez, how he came back too soon from his injury, how LvG used him as a marker with him being far too short to be one. There was alot of sensible support for the lad with comments like "if we decide not to sign him you watch it come back and bite us" and "just watch some other PL club sign him"While I still do think at his age and it would be a gamble for us I do think that if ANYONE can bring Falcao back to how he could be its Mou. I just dont know if he will get the regular playing time he needs to get his mojo back. That Utd forum, if it is RedCafe are quite fickle. Falcao a loaned in player has a bad season = majority called him all the names going,Di Maria, at £57m also has a terrible season = Defended 100%Now suddenly Falcao looks like being ours possibly, they're worried he will find form again. it's so fickle and annoying
RoyalBlues 4,050
Chelsea and Falcao have reached an agreement on principles on loan with option to buy. #CFC (Tancredi Palmeri)

ChelseaFanUK 1,014
Much as he chats shit, I'd not be surprised if he is right going by other various reports last few days. I'd wager good money the finer details before official announcement is what needs to be triggered for the permanent option to be enforced or whatever. X amount of goals, or X amount of appearances. RoyalBlues 4,050
Palmeri :confused:It's completed the puzzle. No deal could went away without Di Marzio + Palmeri + Daily Star reported it first.
Unionjack 7,531
Well he seems to be the biggest deal we have going right now. All the other ones are for young wannabes to fill the academy or send out on the loan merry go round. We need to be looking at some blinkin 1st team upgrades.I see Pogbas agent has stirred the pot saying he could leave for the right price.Cant we have a whip round? illmatic 901
In Atletico, Falcao and Costa made a great attack couple, they had a great understanding between them. You think that they can play together here too?. Some like that ............Falcao - Costa Hazard --------------William ------Cesc ------ Matic------- I think that this would be a great team. Solid and in attack with two of the best and more decisive strikers in the world.
Spike 12,049
I like it when people throw around numbers for wages and transfer fees. Most numbers are definitely pulled out of their arses. It is at its absolute worst when people just state fees and wages like absolutely nothing. To me £25,000,000 (or whatever exorbitant fee is being discussed) is a fucking lot, way too much for a guy that hasn't done anything for two whole years. The fact that he was really good pre-2013 shouldn't justify his fee nor his wages. The idea that "form is temporary, class is permanent" is such a load of horseshit the amount of people that believe it actually boggles my mind. Of course there is a chance he could return to his abilities pre-2013 but the club shouldn't be paying a lot for a player that was good in the far past.He has scored 21 goals in the last two years for Monaco, Manchester United and Colombia. If he were on £200,000 p/w he would earn £10,400,000 in exactly one year. Is ten million pounds what this guy should be earning?
