There is merit in what you say once a player is at a club, and a part of their squad. It's different however when a player is considering which club he wants to join. It's perfectly reasonable for a player to prefer the club which will select him in his preferred position. Of course, later on, the player is entitled to judge his new employers by whether or not they keep their promise.

As far as I know Ox has never refused to play in any position he's been ask to fill. He's done exactly what you say he should, but he's perfectly entitled to seek starts in his favoured role.

Sure.  I get it, he doesn't have to sign a contract if he doesn't want to play here, knowing that he'll be a RWB.

The reason I brought up Milner is because he thought he was going to play as a CM at Liverpool and it didn't work out that way.  So, basing your decision on where a team says they are going to play you isn't always how it ends up working out.

Seems like the only way it's possible now is if Liverpool refuse to pay the £££ necessary AND his position at Arsenal is untenable and he can't stay there.

If that is even deemed an option everyone at the board level should be fired.

First off I have no trouble with Ox wanting to play in his preferred role, if Liverpool say they can offer him that then why would he turn it down?

The axe I will continue to grind is why has it taken so long to get to this point? What options are left to us in this scenario? Will teams actually sell if they know they can't buy now?

The board have proven time and time again to be completely inept... 3 summers in a row where we've failed miserably in acquiring first choice targets. Heads need to roll.

What happened  to this club..Getting rejected by average players...The board is getting what they deserved ...They have no ambition ...dragging the club's prestige down the drain

Yep, our prestige is really going down the drain...

If league titles were won in the transfer window, City and United would have run away with the last few titles.
