Juan Cuadrado

Like I said before we might have a positive net spend but that's not going to happen every season.

Especially when we sell younger players and buying older players like Cuadradro that will have little resale value.

Anyone else get the increasing feeling that we've been absolutely mugged paying £26m this guy? Signs don't look good to say the very least. There's a difference between needing a period of adaption and consistently looking absolutely useless...

At least if Salah keeps this up Fiorentina might activate 18m clause for him so in theory we paid Salah+ 5m which is OK I guess. Just bin him and sign Sterling.

I'm not convinced he is garbage just yet. But his performances have been lacklustre especially considering his price tag. I don't know what others expect but when a player gets bought by a club with an immense price tag I expect at least some sort of offensive production. He was brought to replace and underperforming player only to play even worse.

What is the most worrying aspect is in the game against Everton at least he dared to dribble and take players on, ever since all he does is try to keep posessions and pass backward. Confidence at less than 10% atm.

I'm not making a judgement yet and will give him the benefit of the doubt until he's had a pre-season and 4-5 months of football, but I have to admit he hasn't looked very good with the minutes he's been given so far. Still have faith tho.

He's weaker than Neymar on the ball.

He's weaker than Fabregas on the ball.

He's lighter than them both.

He can't use his back to shield the ball once the dribble doesn't come off, so he loses the ball every time unless he passes.

Needs to go to the gym drastically....

This is his main weakness and its going to take him too long to adapt if he doesn't fix this problem

Thoughts he is a good dribbler but he just do step over which is absolutely useless

That is what we were told but if you ever look at highlight videos on youtube you will quickly learn that his 'dribbling' consist out of feints and hoping the opponent falls for it

Atm he is more comparable with Tom Cleverly's ability to pass backward.

This is the thing that annoys me the most. Schurrle was underperforming, but he was still a proven goalscorer and he actually wanted to stay and continue fighting for his place at Chelsea. Schurrle almost had a goalscoring record of 1 in 3 in the PL last season, which is fantastic considering he was mainly used as a sub and often out of position. Consider his luck with injuries/illness this season, I think it was a big big mistake to let him go, especially for this guy...

He's a decent player, a good player even when playing in the right circumstances. But I don't see him becoming more than a squad player. And before I get the 'he's still adapting reaction', I said this before he signed.

I hope I'm wrong though.

Is he a good dribbler? Or is he just really flashy?

Don't know how you can be a good dribbler when in every appearance a player has come up behind him, simply puts himself between Cuadrado and the ball and Cuadrado falls over...if it really is supposed to be his biggest strength, then I honestly think he's dead in the water.
