1chelsea 864
Getting worried about this now. We seem to have some curse on strikers and Costa has only really had one great goalscoring season. Not trying to be negative, but it's vital we keep Lukaku so we have decent back up for him.Sorry dude which scoring season do Torres have?? That your idea of season do not work the way your mind made it up
Shane 2,275
In 2012-13 he scored 20 goals and gave 15 assists. Not a bad return for a striker, which played more often than not the second fiddle for Falcao. This season he exploded as first striker upfront.10 of those goals came away from the La Liga in Cup games. I'm not saying its a bad season, But it isn't world class. Lets be fair here, He only has had one top class season, and he is 25.Not trying to be negative, Just don't see the point in jumping the gun and acting like all our problems are solved. I do think he'll do well here, But it's just a worry I have.Sorry dude which scoring season do Torres have?? Shane 2,275
He definitely played out wide... To accommodate Falcao.Any game I saw him in for Atletico that year was him playing up top with Falcao, only game that I can really remember is the Copa Del Rey final though. Its besides the point anyway. In an ideal world I would have liked him to stay at Atletico for another year before we pay £32m for him. Obviously with our striker situation we need one for the new season. Lets hope he has a decent World Cup (Crazy decision to play for Spain by the way) and stays injury free.
LDN Blue 7,903
Can't wait till he knocks in 20+ goals in the EPL for us He ****ing better! I've had enough of mediocre strikers now . I love how we had better strikers in 2003 pre-Roman than we did in 2013..

There is that worry that he will flop because in the past strikers who have been rated higher and had higher fees. I don't want to get my hopes up, Because I did that with Shevchenko and Torres. I don't want to get my hopes up, Because I did that with Shevchenko and Torres.the first comment on the page itself clearly says that.sheva was a "flop". admitted. i can understand people being scared thinking about him. but comparision with torres is just not fair. torres was NEVER a chelsea player. it simply was not in his DNA. he is a pussy. he is not the player who would fight it out for the club. the torres transfer was a fiasco, which simply was wrong for all the parties involved. still remember we started the match against liverpool playing with torres-DD-anelka. how do u expect that to work out. no balance. no gameplan actually. add to that, his first match itself was against pool. the transfer simply was WRONG from each and every perspective. costa on the other hand, seems a good fit. it is not a panic buy like torres was or a ROMAN buy which sheva was. it is a buy which JOSE and the board have had a year to think about and agree on. the dynamics are different, the situation is different. nyikolajevics 2,698
What?"He wants Costa to score (at least) 32 goals per season - one goal for each million pounds.Fun fact: Torres costed 50 million but he hasn't scored 50 goals for Chelsea yet. samzilla 517
What?"32 goals presumably

Exactly what we needed, world class striker, where gonna win this that and the other etc etc.We played Torres - Drogba and Anelka because we were playing a diamond like we did against Sunderland earlier in the week, when Nico scored and probably played his best game in a Chelsea shirt. The idea was for Nico to create, and Drogba and Torres would tear up defences. Its easy to say that the Torres transfer was wrong now. I guarantee you weren't saying that at the time though. In fact, Torres was a safer deal, as he was proven in the Premiership over a few years where Costa only has had 1/2 seasons where he has scored goals prolifically
