Fucking love that finish on Saturday.....eyes on the ball to the point it hits the net.........Quality.

What makes the goal even sweeter is the fact Diego hit the ball straight after the chest touch. There was no bounce of the ball off the ground which is usually the case. Amazing.

I agree that he can sometimes be pretty frustrating with the ball at his feet. He's never been the best technically but he does make up for that with his goalscoring and intelligent play (his off-the-ball movement is always excellent).

Yes, he is one of those strikers who is better at what he does off the ball as opposed to what he does with it, though his goalscoring record is better than any striker in Chelsea's recent history, so I ain't gonna complain!

The most clinical goalscorer around in all of Europe currently :

Not bad otherwise either - joint 3rd overall in terms of goals scored (11), behind Ronaldo (20) and Aguero (12); 2nd overall in terms of goals per appearance (1.10), behind Ronaldo (1.82); 4th overall in terms of goals per 90 mins (1.18), behind Ronaldo (1.83), Neymar (1.34) and Aguero (1.22)

His allround game was really poor against Westbrom. so many times moves broke down at his feet. He needs to do much better in that regard.

Yeah it's not great. In fact he's among the worst in those aspects (turnovers and dispossessions) across big strikers in Europe this season :

He's improving, though. His numbers per 90 mins last season were 3.92 (dispossessions) and 3.07 (turnovers).

Me and the old man were discussing Diego in Europe, he doesn't seem to play with the same verve and panache as he does in domestic matches. Is the pace too slow for him, I wonder? Personally I've always thought the more mobile Remy or the more powerful Drogba would be a better option in UCL group games.

Can't see this happening even if it's true. He's an ex-Atletico Madrid player. I doubt he'd move to their biggest rivals.
