DH1988 1,352
Swansea left-backShould the deal for Luis fall through (Not that I want him here for that price/age etc.) anyone else think it would be a smart buy? Everytime I've seen him play he's been brilliant, poor mans Luke Shaw.
Roquila 1,335
He's been brilliant everytime you've seen him but he's a poor mans Luke Shaw? Makes no sense to me. And btw , he's shit.
manpe 10,861
Probably a good choice for backup, young, homegrown yada yada... But to be a bang-on starter for a team challenging for all the cups, the league and champions league? No. But with Cole leaving and Bertrand's future unclear and if PVA keeps getting overlooked, then we actually need a backup left-back too.
Sheva. 5,373
We don't need just a LB, but a starting LB who will play against some of the best players in the CL. Is Davies ready for that? Seems like a Liverpool or Spurs signing to me.Luis is a top 5 LB in Europe, he needs to be signed despite the slight problem with his age.
Special Juan 28,182
Spurs buy middle of the road players like this, leave it to them.
BlueLion. 21,491
PvA is better. So is Bertrand. I see what you're saying about him being homegrown and decent, but he's no better than those two, who are also homegrown.
Duppy Conqueror 1,557
He hasn't reached his peak yet..why get him now for 7m when we can wait till he has fewer years left in his career and pay 25m just before he gets past it?No Swansea players seem rated very highly apart from Bony this year and Michu last but they are a good team who don't use Wimbledon tactics to stay in the Prem and are far from a one man team.Wales are on the rise in football..Rugby will always be King there but they are capable of producing great footballers, have done so many times and are doing so now. Ben Davies is one of the better Lb's in the Prem and continues to rise.
Madmax 9,219
Not good enough to be number 1 at Chelsea, and if we want a homegrown squad option who can 'do a job', there's always Bertrand. Don't think Bertrand wants that role anymore, though. So there's that.

lucio 5,418
he was loosely linked recently , along with rojo (argentina LB).
Waterfall 893
Interesting option as a backup if PVA is deemed not good enough
Y123CFC 69
I think, if the Luis deal falls through which I think it could at this rate, I would prefer us to go for Coentrao.
CHOULO19 24,332
I'd rather we play Bertrand instead. If Luis deal fails, my alternatives would be Rodriguez, and if that fails, Coentrao. Or else keep Azpi at LB and get a new RB.
Duppy Conqueror 1,557
I don't rate PVA as a balanced LB..either a LWB or a LW.he's got skills, but he's as good/bad a LB as Bale was.Bertrand has been messed around for years..his patience is way beyond what i could have. MrBlueGuy 1,552
Pretty much a done deal now, trained with Spurs. Good deal they got there, potentially better than Shaw at least for the price anyway.
