Special Juan 28,141
That goal from Andre against Fulham last season was one of my favorite goals of last season. The way he headed the ball across the defnder and knew if he was touched he would fouled was perfection. This lad is going to have a super season. kellzfresh 7,229
He is going to have a big season. His worldcup has only helped his cause. This was Mourinho's team at Madrid benzema Ronaldo ozil Dimaria Alonso Khedira Marcelo Ramos pépé arbeloa Our team Costa Hazard fabregas Schurrle Oscar/ramires MaticLuis terry cahill ivanovic I have this feeling he could be used as ronaldo was at Madrid as the runner in behind defences from midfield and score, while hazard has the dimaria type of role, to break through tight defences with dribbles and assist loads. Costa making runs will help his cause in providing distraction to the defense and they'll ignore the incoming Schurrle. Fabregas is very vital for him in spotting the runs the way ozil assisted a HUGE part of ronaldos goals and Khedira was the legs and engine of the midfield, just like oscar/ramires (in big games)is for us.If he scores his chances, he'll be in for a fantastic season. RoyalBlues 4,050
Assuming he is fit for Everton, I would like Schurrle to be our striker, if Costa really injured. Put Willian for his place as a winger. I believe we could win the match.

RoyalBlues 4,050
Good for him. Its seems he is fit and on fire again. I have my concern since Everton game he didn't play, but now I'm glad.Looking forward to see him playing against Swansea.

Reus was poor. Draxler and him were pretty good but after podolski came in, zabaleta kind of owned podolski there.
Madmax 9,219
Andre Schurrle talks life and soccer in LondonIf nothing else, just watch the last 3 or so minutes of that video. He talks about his voluntary training initiatives and committing himself completely to becoming a better player. Barbara

Shakez 755
Off the ball he is one of the most intelligent players in the league but on it, his play leaves a lot to be desired.Idd, that's why didn't get into the overhyping he received post WC. He's great against teams that don't press and won't dominate possession. He's very good on the counter though, especially against tired legs. Seems he left us exposed in defence too, Brana must've missed the cover Willian provides. Leaving out either Willian or Ramires seems a no go against decent opposition (not that they both have to start). Madmax

The same could be said of Oscar. kellzfresh and Madmax

He does have games where he's great on the ball. His end product with the ball is inconsistent. And I don't mean his finishing, I mean his dribbling and passing in the final third. TheOneChan95 225
I think he's better if we have more control of the game and are constantly in the opposition final third. He has good positioning and end product to justify playing him in such situations. If we need more control over the midfield as we saw against Swansea then Rami and Willian could be better options. His dribbles are based on pace and not close control like Eden for example. Prime examples are the game against Steaua and Arsenal last season and even his assist in the WC final. Those instances happened quite far and wide away from each other, they don't prove that his dribbling is good.Just to clear myself I am not saying that he can't dribble to save his life infact he has got decent dribbling ability but I don't expect him to beat many fullbacks this season. His movement will cause defences tons of problems however his vision and dribbling wont. They prove that he can be a good dribbler at times. It's just that those times must come in games with specific criteria.
Barbara 15,149
TBH I dont think Schurrle is a particularly good or effective dribbler even on form,His movement and finishing are his main assets.still he can pass by opponents running and with simple take ons. He's one of our smartest players, but not one of the most technical. I remember a few matches/moments last season when he was playing better than he's started and he could receive the pass (not in the run), and pass by his opponents.I do agree he isn't the player we need in the pitch if we need to control the midfield, he's much more suited for counter or matches we aren't challenged by the opposition's midfield.
