North Korea and USA

Can someone please give me a quick run down on what's going on with this. I have been in my own little world for the last couple of weeks and was oblivious to current world events. I am hearing a war is about to start, is this true?

I think North Korea said they would fire weapons at the USA and that they were ready to hit them with missiles after the US army was doing a B-2 bomber practice exercise in South Korea or something

There won't be a war or anything. North Korea has the military capabilities of a rubber band. They can't even feed their own population let alone develop nuclear missiles

Everyone is sick of their shit. China is starting to get really fed up, and I don't think China would would say no to a USA partnership if war is going down.

They do have nuclear weapons but they are rustic as fuck, early cold war Sovier type bombs.

North Korea won't attack anyone unless they have the complete backing of Chin/Russia, which they don't if they keep sending out such provocative messages. Next large scale war will take place near the two Koeras or Middle-East. Kim Jong un wants to stamp his authority in the world but also in the eyes of the North Korean generals, who are most likely the ones in control of the country. Young and foolish, let's hope he won't bite more than he can chew.

Not really. North Korea was given the latest tech upgrades for their missiles by both russia and china a few years ago. But yes, Of course this being North Korea, you never know what's what. They can hit South Korea with their missiles but their long rangers are still untested. More importantly i don't think North Korea has anything more than the initial attack. I don't expect North Korea to attack, because in that condition it (N. Korea) will expose to the whole world that it has nothing in its armoury.

Some of the countries are just like that. They need someone to bash all around the year to hide the genuine self governance issues and sufferings of its citizens. Both the Koreans are technically at war since 1950's. Its like two twins growing poles apart - one extrovert transitioning to liberal democracy and other introvert dwelling deep within itself under communism.

Haha. Communism. That would imply there is no social hierarchy or class structure. There are two classes in North Korea, those who control (the Generals, the 'royal' family) and those who obey, the people who can't even feed themselves.

I cringe when people call North Korea communist, they are in fact the total opposite, a total authoritarian dictatorship.

Fair enough. I am no expert in this, but this is what i read in the newspapers. Lets say North Korea are the greatest failure of Communism. Correct?

I don't even think they consider themselves communist. I think being called 'communist' is an insult that has been passed down from cold war USA. The USA have stigmatised the word to the point where they can conviently use it as propaganda and slander.

China for instance is the exact opposite of communist (can't get much more capitalistic then them) but since the goverment is so controlling and powerful over it citizens USA just slaps the communist sticker onto them. For crying out loud the Communist Manifesto says one of the key points of capitalism is creating markets where there wasn't a market. China has created a market of cheap labour and that's what they export; hence the reason everything is created over there.

I think anyway.

Regarding China, as far as i know, after China was liberated by Japan after the world war (around 1945, is it?), there was a cold war between the nationalist and communists. The Communists emerged victorious and established the People's Republic (1948-49). May be that's why China is still considered a communist country!

I don't think they were liberated by the Japanese considering they were the one opressing them,

There was a lon standing war between China and Japan. Japan had taken over major cities of China before the Japs attacked Pearl Harbour. That brought America into the war and China was liberated from Japan in the 40s.

I don't know the details though, was never interested in studying history after high school. :P

Yup - agree - the US has badly misunderstood (and is not alone) the underlying principles of Communism.

However, post WW2 - it has been seen as a convenient way to 'brand' enemies... The US had no problem with Russia and other communist states IIRC until WW2 - during the 'divvy' up process Russia acquired huge chunks of previously German occupied land mass and that scared the fuck out of the US - who used the excuse to keep troops in Germany (even today) under the pretence of peace (same with UK) when really they wanted to keep an eye on the USSR :) to be fair though, the USSR were a bit cheeky :) they kept making cardboard models of tanks, planes etc - that when viewed from the air looked pretty realistic - pushing the paranoia further :)

So as with all conflicts, either driven from fear/paranoia or jealousy - or aggression and retribution, or the worst of all, some lunatic believes in a 'divine right' -e.g higher power has spoken to them....

I know this is off-topic, but it is not true!

China calls itself Comunist. USA does put a stamp in some countries like North Korea, but not in China...

I dont need to tell that it of course isnt Comunist (like all the other countries, because we havent had a true comunism 'government' to date), but still.

Sure America could blitz NK, but it doesn't seem right. It's all about one guy. One little shit who somehow turned out to be crazier than his father. Eliminate him and I'd say their stance would change...
