He has done pretty well for his first season in the prem at his age... And what had he done to prove he was world class... Be the best player in ligue 1 2 years running... Ok it is not exactly the greatest the league, but he has proven what he can do. I am extremely happy with our signing and don't regret it in the slightest. He can become one of the greatest players in the world and has massive resale value. Worth 32 mil easily by todays standards.

Gervinho was quality in Ligue 1 so holding that league as a reference to provide a players quality is poor.

I don't get that. How can he make himself seem better. We bought him based on his performance, nothing to do with what he did. I am sure we didn't go... Oh he sounds like he is amazing so we will pay that. He was heavily scouted analysed etc which is why we bought him. And in ligue 1 he was rated THE BEST, he could do no more than that. He can't get higher than the best.
