Helping Lamps Stay

Guys

I was wondering if you think there is anything we can do to help Lamps stay?

I know we do not know what is happening behind the scenes, but there must be a way to get it into the boards head's that we want him to stay. A protest, a song on the 8th minute or something? Even something on Twitter or something?

There must be a way to get our message across.

SUPER FRANKIE LAMPARD

You could write a song but you should probably stipulate certain things like contract length, wages, bonuses and maybe even appearance fees.

The board know the feelings of the fans and they're going to do what they think is best for the club.

The board will do what Roman tells them

Because the best for the club was to keep Torres as our only option as a striker...

Now we're going to have to discuss what 'best for the club' means. Okay.

Like it or not, the investment in Torres was close to £90 million. That's not something you can write off in an age of FFP so the board felt he had to be given a chance up front without any pressure on him. It clearly hasn't panned out so now we're looking for an alternative route forward.

I'm not saying whether it was right or wrong, just explaining why they felt that.

The board will do what Roman tells them

Ultimately yes. Much like when he said 'Sack AVB' and then a few months later we got to go to Munich to see something we thought we might never see 15 years ago, or like when he said 'Sack Jose' and then we got to go to Moscow to try some lovely vodka and that was all that happened, and there definitely wasn't a football match or the most gut-wrenching experience of my life. Nope definitely didn't happen.

What was I saying? Oh right....yes ultimately Roman has the loudest voice in the room because he owns the room. But he's not generally a stupid man. Stupid men don't tend to become billionaires, especially under the circumstances he earned his billions.

You can buy Chelsea FC from Roman. Other than that; u cant do shit :)

This guys got it haha.

Anyway Lamps will go one way or another, we can keep him and use him but at the same time possibly using him more than youngsters like Oscar/De Bruyne/Josh etc. it hampers there development To develop you have to play games and if a 35 year old is playing 20 games a season its preventing young guys who haven't be on loan getting a game.

Getting rid of him has its cons and so does keeping him as well as positives for both.

That's a good point. If you look at Mikel, Luiz and maybe Chalobah taking one spot (although that's all up in the air) then you're looking at McEachran, Oscar and Rami sharing time in the other position.

Putting it into contest, Oscar will be 22 next season with over 100 club appearances and about 20 international appearances in the number 10 shirt for Brazil. At the end of next season you'll have the World Cup in Brazil and Oscar will need to be playing regular first-team football for us, and I guarantee that's something he was expecting when he came here.

There's a notion that we'll be playing with kids next season if Lamps leaves - it's bollocks. Players like Cech, Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic, Mikel and Luiz are all going to be between 32 and 25. Some have League Winners' medals, some have Champions League medals, some have both and all have international experience. We're about as well positioned going forward as any team can be.

It isn't a case of making Lampard want to stay. He's made it clear he doesn't want to go anywhere.

It is a case of making the blind twats in charge of this club realise it would be both a mistake to let him leave, and a slight against the fans of this club who want the player to stay.

I don't think a Twitition is a powerful enough medium to reach the club, in all honesty, but it is worth a go I suppose.

The club must realise that letting Lampard leave would be ridiculous based on merchandising alone. After Torres, his is the most popular shirt sold in the megastore.

twitter petition is the only way i can do anythin!!! the people who can actually have an effect are ones who go to the BRIDGE... but i really wanna do something for this one because letting lamps go is suicidal in my eyes.

Those would be the blind twats who have gone out and bought in not one, but two of the most highly-rated youngsters in that position in the last year (De Bruyne and Oscar) whilst also securing valuable first-team experience for two of the most highly-rated young English talents around (McEachran and Chalobah) as well as buying another midfielder who has arguably been the player of the season so far in the Premier League, on course for 25 GOALS AND 30 ASSISTS.

Lol - like RDM this is more of an 'emotional' debate. I think the board are running the club well, posting a profit was an awesome performance :)

If Frank is serious about staying he must realise FFP means he needs a paycut.

If the BA situation is true, I like the new approach by our board in contract negotiations, due to a limited capacity compared to Utd, City and Le Arse - we don't generate enough match-day revenue, we have to rely on more and more 3rd party sponsorship deals.

Business is simple, keep the fixed costs low and variable costs under scrutiny. The 150k week stuff is no longer affordable in a world consisting of Global Recession.

Players, Fans, Clubs have to be realistic in times of economic austerity, if Frank only expects to play 1/2 the games, he should be willing to take a 50% pay cut - it's only fair... That's still 75k week :) unbelievable money - he earns in 1.2 weeks what I earn in a year!!!

So I would love Frank to stay, but he needs to be realistic on wages and our Board do need to tread carefully...

Unfortunately there's nothing that anyone can do to help Lamps stay. The board have already made their decision and he will be leaving in the summer unfortunately. We moved on with Drogba, now we need to move on with Lampard. It's a new Chelsea now. A new era.
