I was wondering if you think there is anything we can do to help Lamps stay?

I know we do not know what is happening behind the scenes, but there must be a way to get it into the boards head's that we want him to stay. A protest, a song on the 8th minute or something? Even something on Twitter or something?

There must be a way to get our message across.

Now we're going to have to discuss what 'best for the club' means. Okay.

Like it or not, the investment in Torres was close to £90 million. That's not something you can write off in an age of FFP so the board felt he had to be given a chance up front without any pressure on him. It clearly hasn't panned out so now we're looking for an alternative route forward.

I'm not saying whether it was right or wrong, just explaining why they felt that.

That's a good point. If you look at Mikel, Luiz and maybe Chalobah taking one spot (although that's all up in the air) then you're looking at McEachran, Oscar and Rami sharing time in the other position.

Putting it into contest, Oscar will be 22 next season with over 100 club appearances and about 20 international appearances in the number 10 shirt for Brazil. At the end of next season you'll have the World Cup in Brazil and Oscar will need to be playing regular first-team football for us, and I guarantee that's something he was expecting when he came here.

There's a notion that we'll be playing with kids next season if Lamps leaves - it's bollocks. Players like Cech, Terry, Cahill, Ivanovic, Mikel and Luiz are all going to be between 32 and 25. Some have League Winners' medals, some have Champions League medals, some have both and all have international experience. We're about as well positioned going forward as any team can be.

Lol - like RDM this is more of an 'emotional' debate. I think the board are running the club well, posting a profit was an awesome performance

If Frank is serious about staying he must realise FFP means he needs a paycut.

If the BA situation is true, I like the new approach by our board in contract negotiations, due to a limited capacity compared to Utd, City and Le Arse - we don't generate enough match-day revenue, we have to rely on more and more 3rd party sponsorship deals.

Business is simple, keep the fixed costs low and variable costs under scrutiny. The 150k week stuff is no longer affordable in a world consisting of Global Recession.

Players, Fans, Clubs have to be realistic in times of economic austerity, if Frank only expects to play 1/2 the games, he should be willing to take a 50% pay cut - it's only fair... That's still 75k week unbelievable money - he earns in 1.2 weeks what I earn in a year!!!

So I would love Frank to stay, but he needs to be realistic on wages and our Board do need to tread carefully...

Unfortunately there's nothing that anyone can do to help Lamps stay. The board have already made their decision and he will be leaving in the summer unfortunately. We moved on with Drogba, now we need to move on with Lampard. It's a new Chelsea now. A new era.
