BluesChick 1,260
LOLI does not count or make me feel any better. My catholic family thinks it means more than presents, so they dont exchange presents during christmas. I love it, never complained or felt jealous of my firends though. We all get together in a happy mood, there is no fights (hard when you realise we are about 40 people) and we have an amazing gorgeous dinner. Awesome time to talk to everyone, celebrate with champagne and thank for the life we have (which I must admit, aint bad)! Also, I couldnt ask for a better gift from my parents, my trip to Munich...We don't exchange gifts. We started to scale back a few years ago when we realized that the kids just didn't need or really want 1/2 of what they received. Before we moved we gave them a bunch of small gifts and one big gift. However when we moved we really realized how much we had just accumulated and didn't need. So, we talked with the kids and decided as a family that we would not exchange gifts for Christmas or Birthdays because we would be able to travel around those times of the year. So we let the kids determine the destination during the holiday closest to their birthday (one is in fall and one is in the spring ) and we decided as a family where to go for Christmas and Chinese New Year. We hope to see as much of Asia and Oceania as we can before my husband's assignment is up and Nathan goes to university.
CHOULO19 24,332
My family does not exchange Christmas gifts (we're Catholic). We stopped exchanging gifts (Christmas/Birthday) when we moved to China and we decided that in lieu of gifts we would take every opportunity we could to travel around Asia and Oceania (and occasionally Europe). I was surprised my children who were 11 and 14 at the time agreed and very readily!.Nice, I really like that idea. I think sometimes the presents objectify Christmas and kill the spirit. BlueLion. 21,491
I got lots of little bits and bobs, which is what I love! A few of the things I got:Got Kasabian's and Noel Gallagher's new live DVDs - they're great as the Kasabian one also has the live album, whilst Noel's comes with a demo disk for his debut album. Great stuff!Assassin's Creed 3 on PS3.Shitloads of clothes. For some reason, almost all of the items are burgundy...Lots of other bits and bobs like books and DVDs as well

And after two or fifteen cups of said tea you wake up in a tuxedo out the front of a casino in a country you don't quite recognise with a yellow-brown substance stuck to the side of your head. The most logical thing to pop through any persons at this time would be "How do I get home?". But as things are the first thing you bounces around you're catonic mind is "Where are my pants?". Of course at this moment in time you are too dazed to realise that you are in fact wearing pants.
