In what form is the struggle? Mental or muscle?

Both. My legs ache at least 10 minutes earlier than if I were running. I loved running about a year back when I was really in the groove of it but moving houses and a new lifestyle ruined that and I couldn't really get into running in my new very hilly home. So I got a exercise bike and I've been really struggling on it.

It's natural. :) Just start with a lower intensity and with shorter durations and build your way up from there. The hilly terrain can be awesome for jogging/HIIT, cherish it mate. :D

I hate it because I can't see cars coming through the burbs.

Why do I struggle considerably more cycling than running?

I'm the opposite. I struggle a lot with jogging, more so than cycling.

But than again, I dont ride bikes outdoor( I do spinning). However, I use to get ankle problems from spinning cause of wrong body placement and motion on the bike...

My favorite cardio is speed roping though, its cheap and fun!

Did legs and back, routine was as following:

Barbell squats 3 x 12/10/8

Pull ups 3 x 10/8/6

Leg press 3 x 15/12/10

Back extension 3 x 15/12/10

Leg extension 3 x 15/12/10

Lat pull-pulldowns 3 x 12/10/8

Hamstring curls 3 x 12/10/8

Cable rows 3 x 12/10/8

Calf raises 3x 20

Exercises are not in the precise order I did them, though. Legs were shivering in the end. :D

Ive gone from lifting weights 5 times a week to doing just 2 full body workouts a week and a shit load of football. I've been packing the muscle on. I know everybody is different and i clearly need a longer recovery time and its working an absolute treat. I feel a lot better mentally as well by playing more football. A good cardio session always makes me feel good, a weights session does too but nowhere near to the level a cardio one does.

This year's first football match played, haven't touched a football since a tournament in May! Stamina was pretty good, wasteful on the ball. The fact that is was 3v3 didn't help the cause. :)

How about you lads/gals, any training 'resolutions' or feats planned for this year?

Basically, since last year, the "resolution" has been to never stop working out. Would consider some extra stuff in the summer if there will be enough free time.

I've gained so much fucking weight over the holidays. FUCK MY LIFE

So have I! :(

I was completely in shape until November (I even ran in a 15k race), but now I am a little bit over 75kg.

It isnt the total failure of last year (when I got as fat as 82kg), but that it is still horrible for someone who worked out to get to 67kg!!!!

Fuck, I havent played a single sport nor have I gone to the gym for almost two full months...
