BOOM. bumped.

I dont know how much I weigh... ill check now...64.5kg. around hte same weight as last time. im looking pretty lean andi m happy.

all ive done is maintain really. not had any goals since my belly fat loss.

at the moment im gymming 5 times a week and playing football on the 2 days i don', and im starting to look to bulk up a bit. I've decided to start taking creatine. The main reason being that i read all the research on it during uni, and i know that in the near future im going to have to be telling athletes to take it, yet ive never taken it my self. so i thought now would be the best time.

anybody got any experience with creatine? anything i should look out for?

im in the loading phase so im taking in about 15-20g a day for 5 days. then for maintanence ill take about 2-3g a day. im not going to cycle it, and i plan on taking it POST workout.

I've read loading phase is not needed, that it's prooven not to have any significant difference if you skip it and start with maintanenace dozes. When I started taking creatine I did do the loading phase. Also monohydrates are the way to go. Taking your daily amount with grape juice is said to improve the absorbtion and effectivness by 40-50%. I usually take 5g a day (differs with products, I follow the instructions printed on the bottle (not a bottle, can't think of the right word! :D )) and flush it down with water. Doesn't taste much like anything. Does remind me a bit of paracetamol.

Glad to read that you're doing great!

I've dropped from 98kgs to 93kg (I'm 192cm tall) with added cardio in the space of February to now. Ideally would like to gain abit more muscle mass, lose fat but I want to do it smart and steady to keep body fat % at the level it's on. Not sure what it's on at the moment, they didn't measure it during the VO-Max test but my abs are defined. Never had problem with getting and maintaining a 8-pack but I have to work harder on chest to build it. My max flat bench press is on 115kg, probably couldn't do that at the moment with the weight loss but aiming to get it to 120-130 this winter. Let's see! :)

Greets to everyone and well done to the ones sharing their stories here, keep it up!

Im only little :(

The most ive ever weighed was 69kg and that was during a bulk that went wrong that made me get that horrible lower belly fat. thats why im back down to 64kg. wanted to get rid of it. starting to bulk up a bit more. but properly this time. slow and steady.

Creatine is good. ive read so much research on it because of uni. I dont think ill do the loading phase for 5 days. 3. then maintain at 2.5g a day. save me some creatine. plus im small so dont need as much. Ive got hte monohydrate stuff and its fine. its that really really fine powder as well so ijust mix it with either water or raspberry juice and drink it.

found it today if you leave it in a bottle and shake it (was in my bag whilst walking around a golf course) it fully dissolved!

ive noticed that im needing to drink lots more, which i already know, but today i was out playing golf from 10:30am - 5pm. didnt do one wee. and when i got back and eventually needed a wee it was the darkest of yellows ive ever seen. (only had one bottle of water with me... and that had 5g of creatine in it!)

I havent hit the gym yet since ive used it, just palyed football and golf. will be gymming tomorrow and will do my last load day.

on a note of motivation... i dont know if anyone has seen the Hodgetwins on youtube but they are hilarious nice guys and i've used them as my motivation recently and im getting allllll kinds of gains. and there relationship advice videos are incredible!

i'll post my all time favourite relationship video...

the last few minutes is insane

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm sitting across the room from one of my best friends. He is quite drunk on my wine (I don't mind he is my friend after all) and it's been painfully obvious for months that something isn't quite right with him. He is depressed and it's growing painfully more obvious day by day. I tell him to go get help, at a doctor or counselor or whatever but he just ignores me and says with a little motivation he can change his life. I've been through what he has a million times before but unlike him I've learnt how to deal with it. He is oversimplifying everything, he believes that there is only one root to the problem and that if he 'fixes' that he will be fine himself.

It's very frustrating.

Gonna stop dranking for a while. Usually a bad idea because after a month or so a party comes up and I spend about a week drunk.

I have rules for drinking.

Prettier the company, the more drinks consumed.

No girls, no drinking. Unless social requirement pending on the setting.

you guys are pretty hardcore in terms of studying all that health stuff.

I'm at around 75-76kg. I signed up at my community fitness center and usually workout like 6-7 days a week.

I break down my workouts 2 days of back/bi, 2 days of chest/tri, 1-3 days of swimming, 4-5 days of core and 3-4 cardio.

Let me tell you taking classes is amazing. I do pilates/yoga and spinnning and I would recommend anyone that has time or resources to take those classes. Pilates really really is difficult and spinning is as difficult as you make it.

Stopping drinking

Yeah, I'm a fledgling alcoholic.

I think the opposite. There is a threshold for me, between X and Y amount of beers, I'm charming, social, and funny. After Y amount of beers I'm a complete narcisstic arsehole, that can be very hard to be around. But of course I always go hard (never go home), become a jerk, and wake up the next morning remembering nothing of the night. 'The more drinks consumed' is probably a different statement for you and me.

Well on contrary, I think it's a good idea to try to be sober and see how it works out. I'm sure your friends will appreciate it much more if you'd be the 'charming, social and funny' lad other than the jerk they need to drag home every now and then. Good on you and keep at it. :)

Well, you better stop drinking than or your future children/wife will despise you!

One thing I learned is working out in a gym with people versus at home is two different things...

At home, I work at my own pace and don't worry too much about anything...

However, at the gym I see competition everywhere, and worry about little things...

Conclusion, working out in gym is better...
