The only place to be 11,313
dint know about that but rumors and what actually happens is very different.plus dd just wanted a 2 year contract compared to a 1 year that was being given and he deserved whatever he wanted, now to the point, u r the owner of the club, would u take such a big risk when teams like manu have got rvp and rooney. his decision to put it all on torres shows he puts money before the club. The rumour about buying the club is probably a little bit exaggerated, but Roman was (and is) a massive fan of Zola.Drogba knew the deal we have with players over the age of 30 and we had to stick by that. We are also a business. The Torres thing might show he puts money before the club, but um....EVERY FUCKING THING HE HAS DONE IN THE LEAST 9 YEARS OF OWNING THIS CLUB WOULD SUGGEST THAT IS COMPLETE, UNADULTERATED BOLLOCKS.We all know the Torres transfer is a massive trainwreck, but he's still a £50 million asset (closer to £100 million with wages although he does bring in a lot) that a business (Chelsea are a business) need to maximise. There's plenty of rumours that he's ready to rectify it in January too, so I think we can give Roman a bit of a break because he's done a fuck load for this club and he's looking to do a lot more.If it wasn't for Roman, we probably wouldn't have out 'member of the month' and then where would we be? Liquidator 5,176
It's not fucking stupid in the slightest. :banghead:By the way, you didn't mention a single thing about JT that would make him a good manager in your opinion. The fact that he is 100% Chelsea will mean that he will have the ability to unite the dressing room a lot easier than Rafa. He has a better relationship with the players having known them for a long time and as club captain he would most likely have their backing. Managers these days often have other staff working with them, tacticians, scouts etc. who would make his job easier. Rafa does not always take training sessions and sometimes leaves it to people like Steve Holland who know enough about what to do with regard to sessions and routines. I don't think JT should be the one studying tactics etc. but he would certainly be useful in giving team talks and motivational speeches to players in matches and training sessions. Then why wouldn't we look to promote someone like Steve Holland? If you want a cheerleader why not get someone like Harry Redknapp in? Or Kevin Keegan?I don't particularly like Rafa, but right now I think he's probably the only option we have. We've got a lot of youngsters who have put their faith in this club to help them develop and if we keep chopping and changing I think we lose them a little.I think we've got enough (and other teams haven't) to make top four with what we've got and what we'll have after January. Then we can start afresh having reached rock bottom. Sometimes you have to do that to build something anew and we've got enough young talent to do that, in my opinion. As for the Guardiola hiring, I've stated before that I think he's the ideal man for us based on everything I've seen, read and heard. I'm not going to tell other people how to express their support, but when I'm at the Bridge I will support the players on the pitch as long as they're putting their heart and soul into it. Others who go to the games can do what they want.

If you want a cheerleader why not get someone like Harry Redknapp in? Or Kevin Keegan? It would be nice to think that we could promote someone like Steve Holland but I fear that he would be looked upon in the same way as Avram Grant- a nobody who got the job because someone else got sacked (RDM wasn't looked upon in this way because he was already a Chelsea legend) and not a big enough name. Alternatively, he may be looked on like AVB was when he was made manager- someone who was 'only a scout or assistant coach beforehand'. Redknapp obviously isn't available but at the time of RDM's sacking he was my number 1 choice, whether or not he was willing to take a temporary job or would have got a longer contract we will never know. Kevin Keegan just wouldn't happen with Abramovich in charge in my opinion.
Fulham Broadway 17,341
So after the millions paying RDM off, the millions to pay this fat cunt to waddle round the technical area and all the grief, nothing's changed.Brilliant -If this board, Buck , Gourlay and all the other shysters worked for any corporation or multinational with the same manager turnover and multimillion pound pay offs, theyd have been shown the door years ago.The obvious way to keep your job is to lick Abramovichs arse...yes roman no roman, can I suck your balls now please ? As for Roman, this whole discussion came from the idea that he didn't care about what a person meant to Chelsea Football Club. It's untrue and I pointed it out.My last response came from your absurd statement that he puts money before the club. super_frank8 186
Yes it does. It's one of the reasons I asked the question ' who would replace him' and 'how would that affect our long-term hiring strategy'.I actually think Benitez can get us a top-four position and then I'll wish him farewell. But in all that somewhat confusing/confused diatribe against me, you didn't actually mention a single name who would replace him. Once again, you have managed to diligently epitomise the definition of 'ignorant douche'. You so conveniently left out the rest of that line you quoted which happens to hold the answer to your ponderings - 'As long as it's not Rafa, who the fuck cares?'So assuming that you didn't really bother to actually read, let alone comprehend, what I was coneveying in my previous post - ANYONE. Literally, ANYONE will do. As long as it's not Rafa.& if you somehow still maintain this bemusing belief that there aren't any other managers who would take the job at this current moment - well then no one works just as well in that case. I would rather have no manager & let JT take the reigns as so many have said in tentative jest (regardless if it is an official position requiring qualifications or not) than have this fat fuck calling the shots for the rest of the season. But assuming that's not within Roman's inclinations, well I'm not going to bother giving you pointless names when the list is quite literally endless. It could be anyone from Gus Poyet to Mark Hughes, or any other manager who wants to make the step up or is currently out of a job or will likely be by January. It really doesn't matter - as long as it's not fucking Rafa Benitez.'I actually think Benitez can get us a top-four position and then I'll wish him farewell.' - & you see, much in a similar manner to what I recall from a response of yours a couple of weeks back, this is where I pretty much disregard any form of credibility you may have once had - simply because it would take either an extraordinarily brave man or an irrevocably ignorant fool to make such an audacious statement.I'm sure you can figure out which of those you are... Liquidator 5,176
Sack RDM they said, he is a tactically inept idiot they said, we will win fuck all with this clown in charge they said.Benitez so far:0-0 vs Man City- decent result, first game against the Champions, not expecting too much0-0 vs Fulham- the sort of game you really need to be winning or at the very least look like we are going to win. Dire and uninspiring, Fulham could have beaten us1-3 vs West Ham- never nice to lose to the pikey boys, especially when we played so well in the first half. Diabolical second half6-1 vs Nordsjaelland- pub team, shouldn't class it as a win really because we have such a better squad than them3-1 vs Sunderland- have been awful all season but it was quite a good win3-1 vs Monterrey- again, a pub team, Championship standard at best. They were so bad that they made Torres look like Messi0-1 vs Corinthians- awful performance

You seriously sit in the MHL ?Because I've asked questions like who would do better? Fucking hell. Like I've said in another post, coming on this site has introduced me to a type of supporter I really haven't seen in over 20 years of going to the Bridge. I seriously sit there. I started in the West Stand when it had Wooden seats (with the occassional game in the Shed STANDING), then moved to the East stand, then to the new Family Enclosure in the Shed and now I tend to stick to the MHL.If you think I'm a plant to defend Rafa then you're pretty delusional considering the amount I go on about hiring a certain Catalonian bloke, and probably duty bound to ban me from this site.
