Rmpr 8,977
I've changed my mind on Benitez. I called him a cunt last week, which was way wide of the mark.He is, in fact, a complete and utter cunt.Anything specific or just got into reality? Sheva. 5,373
LOLRafa is a good coach, but nothing compared to Mourinho or other very top manager. Add to that the fact he is hated (for the right reasons) and Jose is worshiped, it makes a very uneven fight!Nothing compared to Mourinho? the same person who's solely responsible for Mourinho not winning the CL while he was here? despite Jose having the far better team.Let me begin by saying, firstly, Mourinho took a Porto team to Champions League glory, then came to Chelsea and got us to be the best team in the league for 2 years and if it weren't for the Luis Garcia ghost goal or the 2007 shootout loss, we would have been within touching distance of a CL back then. he went to Inter, got the players performing. Eto'o for Ibra + 56mil. what a masterstroke. Sneijder - world beater then. Got Cambiasso, Lucio etc dig deep and pull off Another Champions League winJust because he's stuck with a Madrid team full of players who are not playing for the team, doesn't mean that he suddenly turned into a bad manager. Compare him to Rafa and you've got a total mismatch. Plus, Rafa - never accepted by fans. Plus, Jose would get total control of transfers.Plus Rafa would just be a puppet strung by Gourlay and Emenalo. Plus, Mourinho will have the burning desire to win the CL at Chelsea. that'll keep him going. The Real Madrid part - they performed last season so why aren't they now? there's a lot of problems in the dressing room, and Mourinho only adds to it with his blaming and benching of players.I wouldn't say he's a bad coach or anything like that, but he doesn't look so special at Madrid. It's funny he was the one that coined the whole "Parking the bus" phrase since he has used that same method a lot over the past few years at Madrid and Inter. And i don't see how mind games can be used as a way to judge who's a better coach
didierforever 7,349
The" Special One" is hanging on by the skin of his teeth at Reañ Madrid - jeered by 80% of the crowd, hated by many for the way he has stunk out the name of Real Madrid and what he has done to the clihg and losing badly to opponents. He has one one La Liga, Rafa won two when he was much younger with a much poorer team. Why would you want one and not the other?fine lets compare their careers then.benitez- 1995-96 : Real Valladoid - sacked after 23 games (2 wins, club last in la liga)- 1996-97 : Osasuna - sacked after 8 games (1 win)- 1997 : Extremadura - helped in their promotion from "segunda division" and the next year got relegated.- 2000 : CD Tenerife - helped in their promotion by coming 3rd.- 2001 : Valencia - He inherited from Cuper a team brimming with potential – with Santiago Cañizares, Roberto Ayala, Rubén Baraja, David Albelda, Vicente and Pablo Aimar providing the backbone to a formidable side that had reached back-to-back UEFA Champions League finals in 2000 and 2001, losing only on penalties in 2001 to Bayern Munich. 2 league titles in 3 years. (no way a poor team by the way)-2004 : Liverpool - one champions league from 2004-10.-2010 : Inter Milan - sacked within 6 months of appointment.Jose Mourinho2001 : União de Leiria, whom he took to their highest-ever league finish of fifth place after joining the club with seven games left to be played. During his second season at União de Leiria, the team was on a run contesting places as high as third and fourth by January. Mourinho's successes at Leiria did not go unrecognised and he caught the attention of larger Portuguese clubs2002 : FC Porto (january) : Mourinho guided the team to third place that year after a strong 15-game run (W–D–L: 11–2–2) and gave the promise of "making Porto champions next year."In 2003, Mourinho won his first Primeira Liga with a 27–5–2 record, 11 points clear of Benfica. The total of 86 points out of the possible maximum of 102 was a Portuguese record since the rule of three points per win was introduced. Mourinho also won the Portuguese Cup (against former club Leiria) and the UEFA Cup final against Celtic, both in May 2003.In 2004, the team was dominant in the Primeira Liga and they finished the season with a perfect home record; they secured the title five weeks before the end of the season. Porto lost the Portuguese Cup final to Benfica in May 2004, but two weeks later, Mourinho won a greater prize: the UEFA Champions League, with a 3–0 win over AS Monaco inGermany. The club had eliminated Manchester United, Olympique Lyonnais, and Deportivo La Coruña and their sole defeat of the competition came against Real Madrid in the group round.2004 - Chelsea : EPL and league CUP.In 2005 - EPLIn 2006 - League Cup and FA cup.2008 : Inter Milan - serie A2009-10 - TREBLE2010- MADRID - 2010-11 - copa del ray2011-12 - la liga.and u still want to know why we want one and not the other. do u even believe what u are saying urself or r u just arguing for the sake of it. Mourinho is a LEGANDARY coach who has acheived success in every club he has coached and damn big successes they have been.as for your madrid argument i have already given u a post which i think u missed or just refused to acknowledge so please stop trolling and putting useless comments. Jase 43,479
Credit where it's due but it is absolutely cringeworthy that the media and Benitez's worshippers think that we should change our opinion and rid of the hatred on him just because of one 8-0 win. What next if we suddenly lose the next 2-3 games?! Worth pointing out that the 5 games we have won under Benitez have all come against poor Premier League teams or Championship level teams - Nordsjaelland, Sunderland, Monterrey, Leeds and Aston Villa. We have failed to win in the other games when coming up against Premier League mid-table sides or teams with better quality and/or more streetwise in their approach - Man City, Fulham, West Ham and Corinthians. Not taking anything away from those 5 wins but it's one thing beating the lower level teams and it's another beating the quality ones. Benitez still got a lot to prove before he can even possibly convince us at the slightest!

He won 2 of them (1 was robbed and the other was on penalties). Also, just look at their carrers and how successfull each has been (I do not mean trophies). You are way out of line saying Rafa is a better coach than Mourinho. It is like saying RDM is better than Pep because he won against Barcelona...

Remember something similar happened against Spurs under RDM, he didn't change anything either but the players stepped up and won the game. But this time around, like i said they were lacking confidence and just succumbed to the pressure.Fulham, boring team, he's not the only Chelsea manager to get a stupid draw against them, meh.Corinthians i will agree he could have changed something here, like Moses for Oscar. What I am saying is that overall (qualities and weakness), Mourinho is a much better manager than Benitez and that is not even up for debate. Again, that does not mean Rafa cant do a great job at Chelsea.I know it is a team sport, we lose together and we win together. Nevertheless, you cant lose control of a game the way he did at West Ham and CWC if you are to be placed amongst the best. The explosion (not talking about you) of love Benitez has been granted because we destroyed some shit teams is nonsense. His mistakes at Fulham, West Ham and CWC are just as outstanding as his wins.
