I don't see how you can blame him entirely for what happened at Inter, didn't they also fire their next manager after him? it was more of a problem with the team, the team he had said he needed money to improve.

Also at Chelsea he won't be be main person in charge of transfers, he can say he wants players and Roman + the board will try to make it happen.

I don't know much about his tactics so no comment there, but they seemed to work a lot against Chelsea.

When the players are negative about the coach, I'm always skeptical. You usually get the typical political correct responses but when they're negative, that's not good. And for a club to fire a manager so quickly and him not get a job for almost two years..

And I personally don't like what he did at Liverpool. They weren't fun to watch and they didn't win much. He had enough money and time to build a good team.

If it's purely till the end of the season then I won't complain too much. But I don't see how he could do much better than Di Matteo at all.

If you worship trophys yer, but at what cost.

We have had stability in other ways in the club, owner and club captain for example, Arsenal and United throw their captain armband around like confetti and have numerous problems upstairs, is that any worse than changing manager all the time?

In Roman as owner and Terry as captain, we have imo had more than enough stability to get us through all the manager changes.

For all the people slating Roman and saying he should go. If you would pick RDM over Roman then you are bonkers.

Yes it is surprising that the club have moved so quickly, but things were looking very difficult for Robbie to turn it around. I guess they did not want to let things get any worse like what happened under AVB.

Bottom line is i can accept the regular changes as long as we stay in the hunt for the titles. People say we are made to look a joke, so what, it's not as if keeping the same manager for 10 years will make the media or anyone other than Chelsea fans like us.

If you valued Chelsea over Trophy's/winning you would back RDM over Roman EVERY SINGAL day of the week.

Agree broadly with this.

Managers don't make that much of a difference. Talent makes a massive difference. It's for this reason that firing and hiring managers all the time makes no sense. It doesn't actually change the results long-term. One thing managers can do is bring a sense of command to the club. No Chelsea manager can have that right now because their positions are far too tenuous. Mancini could banish Tevez. Ferguson and Wenger can sit anyone they want. Players now that every manager we bring in is just 4 or 5 bad games away from getting fired. Why listen to what he says?

If we sign Sven to take over I will cry.

I'm also surprised to see that odds of Avram Grant taking over are 40/1!!!!

Isn't Avram manager of Partizan? If so i don't see anyone leaving a full time role for an interim role, neither do i see us paying compensation to break a contract.

What brought you in here? :-)

We have offices in Vimperk and Plsen + Stenovice

Absolutely love Plsen since the Skoda factory stopped polluting it, has an amazing Town Sq and great Church.

Plus, Czech people are really nice, women are gorgeous - but approachable and the blokes are friendly - e.g not looking for trouble....

So hopefully back again in Jan and quite a bit more in the future :)

Driving via Munich is also 1 hour quicker, even tho 100km longer!!!! Crazy :D

So after all that, needed my dose of TalkChelsea :D

Alright now that we are done with cursing the board, let's try and change the discussion a bit:

Am I the only one who thinks that Pep is a much bigger risk than Rafa?

In a way, yes because I think expectations for Guardiola would be insane. No new manager would be able to come in and suddenly turn Chelsea into the Premier League champions or something.I don't think who the manager is matters much, Chelsea just need to find someone, let that person have a greater say in transfer policy, and actually stick with him for at least a few years even if that means accepting disappointing results.
