Terry and Luiz. Terry inhibits Luiz from doing something retarded and Luiz makes up for Terry's lack of pace. The second best pair I believe is Cahill and Ivanovic.

IMO, Terry&Cahill is the best solution. Our mighty Leader is still the best defender in the team. Gary has played well since he joined us and he makes less mistakes than Luiz. Cahill's technique and finishing are also fantastic for a CB.

Azpi-Terry-Cahill-Cole is our best defensive line-up imo.I think in the summer we should be after someone like subotic and if barca is still interested in luiz i say sell him.

Cahill is part of the problem too. His bad games go unnoticed while Luiz gets a lot of blame.

I just know Cahill-Luiz doesn't work, for whatever reason. Give me Terry and anyone else because he always seems to have everyone on the same page.

I'm hoping one thing Benitez will bring is a solid shape and structure to the backline. David Luiz always looks much more solid for Brazil and at the end of last season for us. I'm hoping Benitez gets stuck into him and makes him realises his defensive responsibilities come first because when his heads in the game he is excellent.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Azpi kick on too and make himself first choice RB. Ivanovic for me just isn't natural at full back and against the better teams it shows. He is also not comfortable enough in possession at times.
