Theres a huge gulf between the premiership top four, and then another between the Premiership and the Championship.

Again this is down to money, primarily from TV. There will be a pattern of Championship teams coming up and going down again, because 30 million quid a time is a lot to a championship team, until theres a Championship top 3 or 4. These will probably then be up and down like a whores draws.

Those homegrown quotas on that other thread should in the long run even football as a whole out though

That's wrong.Why get rewarded for faliure?

Surely the parachute payments should go to the promoted clubs from the Championship eg Bristol City,West Brom,Watford etc.Like that it would help them prosper in the premiership,thus the possibility of avoiding more situations like Derby are in,as Ollie said is an embarrassment.

Derby just was'nt prepared.Lack of money,poor squad.

West Brom would of made a better effort had of they won that play-off final instead of Derby.

Which surely must question that the play off system has to be restructured so that the 3rd place team goes straight into the final and the 4th place team play's off with the team that finishes 3rd bottom in the premiership.The winner would then play the 3rd place Championship team in the final.

As it stands,the final would possibly be be Bolton v West Brom.
