Celtic or Rangers?

Big names all quit Rangers

Allan McGregor, Steven Davis, Kyle Lafferty and Jamie Ness have joined the Ibrox exodus after declining to transfer their contracts to Charles Green's newco Rangers.

They joined Steven Naismith, Steven Whittaker, Sone Aluko and Rhys McCabe, who registered their objections before the start of this week.

A statement from lawyer Margaret Gribbon of Bridge Litigation read: "Allan McGregor, Steven Davis, Jamie Ness and Kyle Lafferty have instructed PFA lawyers' Bridge Litigation UK to object to their transfer to the Rangers' newco."

Lee Wallace earlier pledged his future to the newco club, which is almost certain to start life outside the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. But Wallace and Lee McCulloch are the only two players to have committed themselves publicly to staying at Ibrox and Green now faces the prospect of more players walking away, possibly without compensation.

The law firm's statement added: "The union's lawyers are already instructed in this matter for Rhys McCabe and Sone Aluko. Bridge Litigation UK has confirmed that letters of objection have been sent to the club along with requests to the SFA to release the players' registrations.

"Bridge Litigation UK have shared with the players the contents of legal guidance issued by the SFA last week on the issue of TUPE and player registration and which they state supports their legal view that an objection under TUPE amounts to a lawful termination of contract giving the club no entitlement to a claim for compensation."

----------------------

This is just ridicules. No Rangers in the SPL, essentially becoming a one team league.

With the way things are for Ranger, can they just change over to the FA, and play their way up?

Go to a third division or something!

There is meant to be news coming out tomorrow on a new bid for us, set up of Rangers men.

Honestly some of the posts in here are the reason theirs any kind of divide at all, If Celtic fans support terrorists' then so to do Rangers, Their 2 sides to every coin the UDA,RUC, UVF, and even the proud British Army have committed much "terrorist" behavior and atrocity's in their "glorious" history to, you can't condemn the IRA its splinter groups and glorify their counter parts, never mind that this is a political situation seen by many as oppression from certain denizen's of the British isle's to another for the guts of a 1000 years, the complete lack of understand of the entire situation is why theirs such ignorance from fans and some of the post's in hear, for all the winging and moaning of "political correctness" are prime examples of what PC should try and wipe out, ignorance and hatred.

Are either fans good? no. Are either teams good? no. And should Chelsea its in attempts to become a global brand and a global club should distance itself greatly from it? Mostly definitely!, (ofc theirs good decent fans on either side who care nothing for it and just want their fav clubs to do well)

beside half the Chelsea squad are Catholic, fairly ironic for any die hard's of the sectarian divide eh?

As John Terry was receiving his verdict, so we're Rangers.....Although the result for Rangers was not as good as Terry's. They will now enter division 3 of the Scottish Football League.

Prepare for the collapse of Scottish football.........

We are happy with this mate.

We don't think the decision will stand as the spl will loose alot of money. We want division 3 so we can watch the rest collapse but I'll be very surprised if we are playing division 3.

As much as I would love what Justin said below its not going to happen sadly.

Right then, team GB seemed to have done good in the Olympics.

Well why can't we have a league of GB?

Consolidate the league from each of these country into one?

I will assume most English teams will still remain top, but as we are seeing from teams like Swansea that is Welsh, there is competition out there.

And I am dying to see the likes of Celtic playing week in out against top teams from England and such.

How would we induce all the teams from different countries into the league? I don't see a fair way of doing it. You can't just say Celtic you're in PL, Swansea you're out. Aberdeen you're in League One etc.

I don't see how it would work to be honest.

Because the Celtic fans would shit themselves and reply: "BUT WE ARE IRISH". Even though Great Britain does not equate to United Kingdom, Celtic fans are an irrational bunch and it would mean the same thing to them.

In the real world

Great Britain = Landmass

United Kingdom = Every country in the Commonwealth (Australia, Canada, England, Wales, etc)

In the Celtic world:

Great Britain = Evil English Imperialists repressing humanity

United Kingdom = Evil English Imperialists repressing humanity

A Celtic fan once called me an Ignorant Evil English Imperialist because I told him I'm an Australian with English heritage...

THe only way I can see it working is with a few select teams. Celtic for instance gets promoted to the PL and for one season 21 teams will contest and since there is an extra team an extra relegation spot would be needed. After that one season, it returns to normal.

I hope that makes sense. It doesn't seem very concise at all.

A Britain league would kill the Scottish, Welsh and N.Irish teams even more really because of how dominant the English teams are. Also it will re spark the whole independent country debate.

Because of the Evil English Imperialists that control the world through mass media propaganda and a Great Britain league would be just another way to convey Evil English Imperialist dogma into the brains of our youth. Blah, blah, blah fuck Australian and Canada too, they are in England, right?

Everyone is so sensitive about everything.

I was born 30 miles from the Scotland Border with a Scottish grandfather . Im also a Catholic so I do understand a little of the Old Firm friction.

Believe me there is nothing in England even remotely like it.

There may be some in other parts of Europe BUT it is not something to be desired. Id rather just laff at the gooners

Aye - 2 of my friends are Scottish, like brothers to each other and they ended up smashing up a bar and glassing each other (really bad injuries) - both were arrested and hospitalized all over an argument about Braveheart, Rangers + Celtic (one supported Rangers, the other Celtic)...

It was a nightmare scenario - such deep rooted hatred passed from generation to generation - with the story getting more and more twisted through the ages - I cant ever imagine in my lifetime seeing it change...

To put it into context, remember Millwall vs West Ham in the 80's/90's - it's about 10,000 x worse...

Personally, have a soft-spot for Millwall, as the old man is a supporter - and once saw footage of him on a MOTD re-run about hooliganism and him and his mates were there throwing chairs!!!

I also went to a Millwall game and saw a Film Crew - watched Football Factory, and fuck me - we were in the movie!!! Walking along to the ground...! :D

It is madness - we went to watch City v Millwall a few years back as well - it all kicked off, everything going on, cars getting smashed up, horses nearly trampled us, ended up lost in the back streets of Manchesta with my old man and some other Millwall boys...If I take him now, tend to get a corporate thing - he likes that better :D

Chelsea's first manager was a Rangers player, so the link has existed since 1905.

Both teams play in blue with a lion On their crest.

The respective fans have enjoyed a great relationship at friendlies over the years.

When Man Utd warmed up in their CL game against Rangers, the Rangers fans repeatedly chanted CHELSEA

Celtic hate Chelsea, their fans are fully aware of the link, they booed JT at the Petrov benefit game.

No offence to any fans of either team here (as I'm aware some people on here support these teams), but -When it comes to Celtic, I find that they have very aggressive fans who do some very aggressive stuff outside of football. They're a lot more quiet than Rangers fans when it comes to debates and arguments, and they also seem a lot more humble. They have some disgusting chants however, and are often offensive.Rangers fans annoy me more than any other fans in the world. Literally. They (most of them, not all of them) always like to play both the victim and the bully at the same time when it comes to their club.Their sayings are extremely stupid and contradictory also. You will hear them shouting at other fans "WE ARE ONE OF THE MOST SUPPORTED TEAMS IN THE WORLD!!!" and then in the very same breathe say their silly saying "NO-ONE LIKES US WE DON'T CARE, WE ARE THE PEOPLE!".If no one likes you, how are you one of the most supported teams in the world? If you don't care about it, why do you come up with chants, songs and quotes about it?The constant bullshit about the amount of league titles they've won too irritates me so fucking much too. They don't even realise that there's a team in Uruguay (I'll try and find their name later) with 2 more league titles than them. They also seem to always put words in Celtic supporters' mouths, and pretend like Celtic fans have said something wrong (of course they have actually said wrong things at times, but a lot of RFC supporters just make up shit to justify shouting abuse at them).A lot of Rangers fans tend to be ignorant, obnoxious and have little-to-no respect for people outside of their family and close friends. They are the most frustrating and deluded people I've ever come across when it comes to actually talking football. It's as if they don't know what a conversation they is. They just want to shout their point (which is usually wrong) until you give up.So - If I had a gun to my head, I'd rather support Celtic. This is just from my experience. I understand there are some strong things I've said, and not all Rangers/Celtic fans are like this, but I'm just saying what I've experienced. No offence intended.

What utter nonsense. To anyone reading that, it is absolute rubbish. I am embarrassed for the OP.

But they did pick Celtic in the end so that explains alot.

They have a saying for Celtic in Glasgow, 'always cheated, never defeated'. It suits them to a tea they are the biggest bunch of 'victims' ever. Tragically so and I say that as someone who knows many Celtic fans despite supporting Rangers.

Putting words in their mouths, hahahhaahha no one has to do that, they talk enough absolute rubbish for themselves. They have such a filthy controversial history and anyone who knows Celtic knows what I mean.

There are bad eggs on both sides but there are a lot of very intelligent, kind and decent people on both sides. But as for ignorant and deluded, that's definitely more Celtic.

I am not going to get into a petty fight over sectarianism, there is enough of that here in Scotland but I won't allow Rangers fans to be decried with such predjuice and ignorant nonsense to people outwith Scotland who from that post would get the complete wrong end of the stick as that post is highly inaccurate.
