What did they do?

They let him go and have the time off he needed when it was an important part of there season.

It was good of them to do it, I would be dissapointed in Hulk on a way if he caused a fuss to leave tbh, no matter how much I want him here.

Sadly he's the best DM we have.

No way. Romeu is mediocre. not only every manager will play him only reluctantly as he wants back to Barca asap. There is a reason, why he's not played under RDM: He simply is not good enough. Mikel, Meireles and even Lamps are better DMs.

Someone obviously didn't watch him play against City in our 2-1 win.

He was our best player mid season with AVB, he's not a bad player at all. What a stupid thing to say.

Mediocre players don't come from La Masia, earn an appearance for the Barcelona first team, play for underaged Spain teams and move to Chelsea.

He is a very talented footballer.

Oh really?

Valencia and Man City where really good games for him, but i can't find the one vs Man City.

I remember when AVB first took over, Essien got injured, we where all debating if it's Mikels time to flourish. He had a good game vs Stoke, then had a few decent games after that, then we started having major problems, he kept making mistakes, he wasn't tracking back. He then started against Liverpool and he got pushed off the ball by Charlie Adam and Liverpool scored, and Mikel's known for his great strength.

Then after that he was benched by Romeu, and Romeu was putting in better performances than Mikel has ever made in a Chelsea shirt. Lmao it's funny how everyones forgot these performances, they also forgot about Sturridges first 6 months for us last season, it's all now he's selfish and that's the way it is and that we should sell him.

Also against Arsenal under Robbie he played quite good, completed more or less all his passes a part from a few.

If we were to play a fluid 4-3-3, Romeu has to be given the nod ahead of Mikel as he was basically brought up playing in a fluent 4-3-3, where as Mikel clearly struggled in a fluid 4-3-3 for us last season.

Why does every thread spiral into a Mikel debate these days?

The perception of Mikel has changed by some Chelsea fans. For most of his career the man has been scapegoated, called shit, and grouped with scrubs like Bosingwa and Kalou. Now after some fine performances and being a vital member in our CL run, he has finally gained some praise among some Chelsea fans.

So basically Mikel is dividing opinions among Chelsea supporters. And some are having a hard time with the fact for once Mikel is being praised.
