I always have this rather ignorant idea that if you're not from one of the top 10 or-so leagues, you don't know how to play football properly.

Then again, I also have the belief that any player can be good enough given the right coaching.

Bit harsh; there were fantastically organized after overcoming an iffy start. Corinthians struggled to convert possession into chances.

Sensational ball in from Douglas though.

I like the look of their right side - Alessandro, Paulinho, Emerson.

Ok, their organisation isn't bad. But that's only half the game. With the ball? - They're terrible. (Minus the 'Egyptian Messi', who is actually decent).

That being said, Corinthians are pressing well, though i'd like to see them when they're not having the majority of possession, and are being physically dominated. Don't know how they'd cope. The referee isn't helping matters either. Maybe we've taken our English refs for granted

Yeah I was thinking the same towards the end of the half - 'want to see if Corinthians are any good without the ball'. Up to Ahly to come out with a changed set up or attitude or both and take it to the Brazilians.

One thing which will be good for our players - Corinthians don't seem to press the opposition much (judging by this game anyway). Instead they wait for individual mistakes - which I believe we're making allot less in midfield these days as well as upfront.

I'm worried however that we won't have anyone in the double pivot to control the pace which I believe will be very important. Hopefully Lampard steps up from his previous performances (which I'm confident he can do).
