That's true. I'm still gonna vote Bernie though. Mike Pence looks like Voldemort.

If it makes you feel any better cooler heads prevailed down here in Georgia and the "religious freedom" bill was not signed by our governor lol.

I am curious though. How do you feel about the Sanders tax increases? Vox put together a nice little calculator right here:

http://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2016/3/25/11293258/tax-plan-calculator-2016

Under Sanders I would pay north of 6000 more dollars per year than just Hillary's plan alone. Do you think the tax payers would go for that in November?

These things happen unfotrunately.
As I am a fan of war stories in youtube, in 1944 the British allies bombed the hell out of the city of Piraeus. They wanted to get the German depots but the RAF bombs hit the town as well and killed many civilians.
That happened in July 1944 and the German occupiers were keen to jump on the opportunity and desctibe it as a war crime.
But only a few days later the SS move into the Piraeus suburb of Kokkinia, round up all the male citizens and shoot them (the bloco of Kokkinia).
What can you do about it ?
I believe that force can only be met by force.

The thing is we are not fighting countries. We are not in a war. These are criminal groups using terror to provoke military reactions and hate. They didn't start bombing Sicily because it used to be mob infested. We've been bombing the Middle East for the last fifteen years and it only got worse. So apparently the only solution is to bomb it some more?

I'd say throw some special forces on them. Essentially these idiots are mostly guys who were too dumb or too lazy to get a job in Europe. They're borderline-retarded, useless halfwits. I mean, they wanted to destroy Stade de France but they were too dumb to even check when the game started so they were half an hour late. Are we really afraid of them? What are they going to do to a couple of covert squads full of highly trained killers. Go Inglorious Basterds on their asses. Make it a competition between the Navy Seals, SAS, Spetsnaz, Foreign Legion and the Mossad. Those who kill the most morons get a medal and no civilians get hurt. Televise it for all I care.

Well, at least you guys have that. Still have that discrimination bill set to pass that could cost millions in tourism.

I'm willing to pay more for better healthcare for everyone, lower tuition costs, etc. The good outweights the bad. I'm all for it. Also, the low class people and lower middle class people will vote for him. We outnumber the other classes.

A choice between an extreme right madman and an extreme left geriatric. Geeeeeez.

Funny how they can be so far away from each other on the political spectrum. I imagine that if the finals will be between Trump and Sanders, who the ultimate victor will weight in a lot to politics around the world.

Sanders, by global standards, is center left on most issues, except foreign policies where he is at best a centrist.

Hillary Clinton is all ranges of right wing on most issues, a centrist on a few.

The republican party in the US is so far off the charts it can't even be considered a traditional party anymore but rather a radical insurgency as Chomsky labels it.

sanders being "extreme left" lol

Fantastic response lol

Instead of just 'lol', why don't you actually try post something with substance so I can understand why I'm wrong? I actually don't mind being wrong and admitting so, it means I can learn something new.

In my defence he is certainly extremely left by American standards from what I can tell, I don't claim to be a political expert at all.

Fair enough, you would be willing to pay more, and many in the lower/lower middle class would willing to pay more. That is a strong point:)

This leads to the question of how MUCH would you be willing to spend? How much do you realistically expect middle class people to pay for these programs? For the last fiscal year we have records on right now(2014) we can see that over half of American workers made under 30 thousand dollars that year(seen Here). I paid, all in, just under 3k more than that in taxes last year alone. I am solidly middle class. If I were in Chicago I would be doing well to live in a condo in the gold coast. Why should we agree to pay more taxes when we pay more than most workers even earn a year, and are already subsidizing them?

Hey Spike,

I guess the frame of reference matters. We would call him a social democrat here. Indeed very center a little left - which is very standard in a European context. In the European parliamant they have 162 of the 736 seats. So it is both national as European a big fraction.

In an american context he would be fucking Karl Marx [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23].

Ps: calling him a socialist (which americans connect more with communism than we do - but this has McCarthy reasons for that kind of bias) would be a bit of a stretch for socialists here. Lol.

The American political terminology is different from ours.
In Greece a liberal is being chased by the reds with hammers and sickles all over the place.
In America a liberal is a "communist spy".
In UK is more or less like Greece but the libs are not the same as tories.

Thanks I was looking at this to get a better frame of my mind after I read your post.

So yes, Sanders is left centre. In comparison to the others though he is very leftist.

LAHORE: At least 65 people were killed in a suicide attack in Gulshan-i-Iqbal Park of Iqbal Town on Sunday evening, rescue sources said. Hospital sources added that over 200 were injured.

The attack was claimed by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan Jamaatul Ahrar.

Iqbal Town Superintendent Police Dr Muhammad Iqbal confirmed this was a suicide attack that took place at a children's park, where a large number of families, especially women and children, were present.

The area is a renowned residential area of Lahore. The blast was just outside the exit gate and a few feet (metres) away from the children's swings.

DCO Captain (Retd) Muhammad Usman said the head of the suicide bomber was recovered. Ball bearings were also found at the site.

56f806f42b2ac.jpgEye witnesses said there were pools of blood and scattered body parts spread across the site of the attack.

"We took the injured to hospitals on rickshaws and taxis," one eye witness said.

He added that the crowd was "unusually large" because of Easter.

"The roads were also jammed and queues of vehicles could be seen till Moon Market."

Many eyewitnesses said there was no security present in and around the park.

An eye witness, talking to DawnNews, said:

"The park is huge and has many entrance gates. There were almost no security personnel present there."

A Rescue 1122 spokesman confirmed that an emergency call was received at around 6:44pm and that over 20 ambulances had been sent to the site at the time.

An emergency was declared at all government hospitals in the city.

The Punjab government announced three days of mourning.

The cowards are targeting children, damn.
