Cutting Kenyon a bit of slack, he can't exactly turn around and say "unless Grant wins something we are kicking the c**t out the door" or "he isn't really the manager he is just warming the seat for Rijkaard/Hiddink ect.."

I just hope to god that what he is saying isn't the REAL stance at the club!!!!

The only positive we can take from it is we know Kenyon, says one thing -as he did with Mourinho , and then goes along with exactly the opposite.

I bloody hope thats the case because the thought of Grant still being in the job next season is just too painful to even think about.

Just watched it and it begs the question: If this season is anything to go by, what's Kenyon's definition of 'the next level'? He was waffling some rubbish about "building on the last 3 years" but how are we doing that with Grant exactly? We havent even built on last season yet: last season CC - this season losing out woefully; last season FA Cup - this season, well, the less said about that the better; last season, runners up in the league - this season, realistically we won't finish higher than 2nd and are more likely to finish in 3rd spot. So that leaves CL - if we don't win it, where exactly have we 'built' on anything?

The man blatantly talks shit.

The only way we are going to do with Grant is down. There has been a gradual but obvious decline in the security of the club itself and that shows through in the confidence of the squad. A coach whose face doesn't scare someone shitless is a good start.

The scary thing could be that Kenyon is actually being truthful and Grant is safe for the next four years and that he really does believe the guff he's spouting out.

The more hopeful thing is that Kenyon usually lies whenever he opens his mouth, I seem to recall him saying comforting words about Mourinho and then he was gone a few days later and we were appointing Grant to take us to another level.

Kenyon to be fair can hardly say anything else - Grant is still keeping Chelsea in two competitions - if he manages to get us out of those two then I'm sure he'll be gone in the summer.

I can see the gradual decline in the team since Grant took over, despite 6-1 thrashings of Derby.

God only knows but again Kenyon had to justify something you couldn't. You sack Mourinho and hire Grant. He was doing his masters bidding as was Buck and the only thing he could do was waffle about taking things to another level - and hoping the press didn't ask what that level was.

So far Grant has taken us to a new level alright - a lower one. He has not even won the same cups Mourinho did last year. Okay he could win the CL and league but that is a hell of a big if.

If the scenario you paint above pans out I would love to hear Kenyon being asked how he feels Grant has done moving Chelsea to a new level.

What I sense Kenyon, Buck and Roman are fervently hoping is that Grant somehow flukes a cup which will prove how right they were to appoint him and ditch Jose.

It wont at all but it will merely cover up Grant's ultimate failings in my view.

How are we but 3 points off the top with this man in charge?

The phrase.... " Falling in shite and come up smelling of roses " springs to mind.

Its Arsenals demise of late has us in this position. Dropping numerous points in their last 4 games is giving us an unrealistic carrot dangling in front of us.

If we were in this position under someone who the fans had more belief in then maybe I would be really excited at the run in. But in truth I'm just waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under us once more.

how are we so close to top? it doesnt matter who is in charge, a retard could guide that team to the top 4. Look at the squad, regardless who's in charge, we have the best squad in the league.

i know so. When Man Utd have Ronaldo & Rooney out, they struggle. All the games that they have lost this season have been without either 1 of those 2 or both.

Arsenal are the same without Fabregas and Adebayor, they dont play great without them.

Liverpool are all about Gerrard and Torres.

Now with us its different. We have cover everywhere and it was shown around christmas time and during the african nations cup. No matter who played for us, we won and we had a good team out.
