With the revolving door in place the club should trust its original judgement for a bit longer. But you're right in the sense that kdb was pushing for a permanent move away because of Mourinho and ultimately it did his career a world of good.

The club can't do that simply because if the manager doesn't play/trust the player, the player will be unhappy and want to move elsewhere. Keeping unhappy player that doesn't play is not good for everybody involve.

Mourinho prefer Oscar to Kdb that was the reason why he left, it was terrific decision by Kdb, horrible for us though.

This guy has Gerrard written all over him and top season behind. Board would be huge idiots to loan or even sell him. Instead of ud, should he be player of Bvb, the whole fucking world would want him and he would be worth 25mio with ease to compare with today prices. But as he is chelsea player, we would sell him for 15mio. Ffs Porto rates Mangala for 30. 30! Last time for us to start rating our players higher. Kdb is certainly player for future and I want him at Sb next season.

If only I was in charge of Chelsea transfers :P:(

You can even go back through the posts in this thread, not many people really gave a shit when he left. It's easy, lazy, and convenient to blame Mourinho for letting him go.

There are several parties to blame but it ultimately lies with the board IMO. He was on fire at Wolfsburg & was let go for peanuts.

I do wonder if loans are just a way to show potential suitors what you can when our club are involved. Only Courtois & Christensen have been given a chance (don't want to hear the same old line, "they weren't good enough").

Yes, but we are fans, we are all quite clueless in the grand scheme of things, that plus we were still in the honeymoon period of having Jose back, we were always going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Jose himself and the board however should have known better.

We either made a profit or basically get a multimillion signing for free, win win for all parties, players included.

We've lost out on arguably one WC player, one on his way to be & another in Lukaku that would easily have a place in our squad.

Selling the likes of Atsu, Djilobodji & Di Santo to name a few, isn't winning in my book.

I agree Lukaku could have had a place in our squad, probably the role Bats has got now would suit his ability's, problem is he wanted an undisputed starting place something he isn't good enough for now let alone then.

Di Santo was long before this policy begun but re the other two, yes not all will work out but it's been a policy thats worked well for us. The players that aren't quite good enough or want to be more than squad players (Ake, Traore, Lukaku) we can sell on and with the money buy players that are good enough, it's worth noting selling Rom basically payed for Costa a move thats been more than justified. Then when we find players that are good enough we basically have a big money signing for free, i dread to think how much Tibo and Christensen would have cost had Leti and BM owned them.

We've been settling for players that are supposedly good enough for too long and using the profit on players that aren't better than our some of our back ups. Pasalic could have easily filled the Drinkwater role. Money poorly spent.

I have started to wonder how the board/Roman see things going forward. Is everything going on hold till our stadium is sorted out?

Funny how people are slagging Mourinho off for getting rid, NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND could have predicted his development. I went to a League Cup game in 2013 away at Swindon and he was, by far, the worst player on the pitch.

When he arrived, I thought he would be a success as one of two central midfielders with a défensive midfielder behind.

I think the problem between Mourinho and Him was because of his temper.

Not really a yes man and have argue with coaches in past and more recently with Martinez of national team.

People referring to the Swindon game is incredible: before that game he single-handedly was responsible for the qualification of the Belgian national team for the WC in Brazil, he was the stand out player during his loan spell at Bremen, he had a terrific pre-season tour in Asia and was voted MOTM in his first ever Premier League game at the age of 21 ... all before that important Swindon game (at that time Mourinho had managed despite all the above, somehow to ignore KDB and completly ruin his self esteem). Bur hey... impossible to predict the guy would become a world class player 😆😆😆

Your right. Old post but yeah selling De Bruyne for profit as well as Mata (although at the time I hated the fact he'd sold him as he was our best player in the previous seasons since arriving) while resigning Matic was a masterstroke in the short term imo. Matic was needed more than any of those two at that point considering the likes of Oscar, Hazard, Schurrle and Willian were playing more regularly and consistently than those two. Salah came in, didn't get a huge chance (as we've seen now with him scoring goals for fun at Liveprool) but at the time nobody complained. In the short term, when we won the title the next season, nobody cared.
