BlueLion. 21,491
Yesterday was his worst game in about four months. I'll cut him some slack. The only place to be
Milan 17,959
Seems like Cahill took the defeat pretty hard at the end..I wouldn't be surprised if he did. He is very passionate about every moment in the game. For instance, when Cech makes a good or important save, you can see Gary celebrating that we did not concede from it. Jase 43,479
@, looks like I was right. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2592833/Jose-Mourinho-vows-summer-surgery-cut-players-without-personality-warning-misfiring-strikers-fight-leave.htmlAfter Saturday’s defeat at Crystal Palace, Gary Cahill and Cesar Azpilicueta slumped on to the turf, dejected. John Terry looked distraught after heading in the own goal which settled the game.‘It feels like the end, that it is over,’ said Cahill. ‘It is massively disappointing and at the end of the game, it was a horrible feeling.’Mourinho marched on to the pitch, making a beeline for Cahill and hauled him up, put an arm around him and told him to leave with his head held high.‘I told him he was one of the guys who should not be on the floor,’ said Mourinho. ‘I told him he was one of the guys who should walk to the dressing room with pride, that he had another performance where he gave absolutely everything. Henrique 9,133
Just putting it out here, is anyone gonna question Cahill's positioning for that 2-3 late Palace chances when they got into the space vacated by Ivanovic but wasn't covered well enough by Cahill? Seems like his problems are still there..The truth is Cahill is a very limited defender. We had Luiz, who is an error making machine and lacks discipline, while Cahill is the hardworking man, and has a no nonsensical playing style. So Cahill seems a huge improvement. Yes, we have the best defense in the league, but not because we have 4 superb defenders, but because the team as a whole is more concerned about defending than attacking, thats why at the end of the day we create few chances to "kill the game" in most matches.Mourinho is favoring mediocrity. Thats why he made Ivanovic his number 1 RB. Other players were turned into mediocre ones, like Ramires, who had 12 and 9 goals in two past seasons, and 7 and 8 assists, this season he has only 4 goals and 2 assists, despite playing game after game. Sidzeret 2,257
Cahill is the future Chelsea captain.Totally agree on that. The only player bar the old guards who looks like captain material willing to take responsibility and lead the team. GhanaBoy 104
I doubt it. I am telling u now starting next season he will be on the bench simply because luiz will step up. ( don't u notice that all the Brazilian internationals are having an ok to poor season in Europe. Don't u find that suspicious? ... But after the World Cup it will be a different story.). Ps Cahill does not have a character resembling a captains he is a follower, we had wise, desailley , and terry. Cahill simply does not come close. If anything the VISE CAPTAIN of BRAZIL david luiz has the aura and the ability of our previous captains( if he stops goofing about) than Cahill. That is just wrong and way off the mark.As it stands at this moment in time there is a big question mark over Luiz from Mourinho's point of view. To be a captain it takes more than just aura and ability mate, it's a whole package thing.Luiz will be lucky if he's here next season, I'm telling you. GhanaBoy 104
How good is Cahill on the ball ( wonder why we struggle against smaller team? They know our center backs can't hurt them so they give them the ball) .How good is he positionally , what outstanding characteristic jump at u when u think of Cahill beside solid. I am sorry mate but I expect more . Take john terry away from Cahill and he looks poop, no coincident that paired with any other center back (ivanovic, luiz) they play on the left side and take control/command instead of " captain to be" Cahill. The guy is ok , but ok is not good enough for a club like chelsea.

I am telling u now starting next season he will be on the bench simply because luiz will step up.I bet he won't. I love how you're excusing David Luiz's poor form with talk about the World Cup. He can fuck right off if he's not having a good season for us because of the World Cup because Chelsea should be at the top of his priorities. How good is Cahill on the ball ( wonder why we struggle against smaller team? The guy is ok , but ok is not good enough for a club like chelsea.Cahill is very underrated on the ball (in the same way David Luiz is overrated) and defensively he's very good. He's got pace, he's good in the air and his reading of the game is much better than it used to be.But because he's not flashy like David Luiz people think it's ok to shit on him. I'd take him as captain over Luiz every day of the week because I know he'd give 100% for the cause.
Henrique 9,133
Love this. He cares so much and that is what i want at my club. Only behind Hazard as Chelsea player of the year IMO.I agree with you, but thats the problem with our team. At the same time we have Hazard as our best player, Cahill is our 2nd best in the whole season. This is a team that needs to find the balance between Hazard brilliance and Cahill mediocrity. Winning the league while Cahill is our player of the year, only behind Hazard? Never a possibility. GhanaBoy
BloodIsBlue 291
Did u even read the rest of my message? .. If not that explains a lot.I did, doesn't mean I agree. Cahill has made many important stops this season, some really entertaining defending too. Hazard, Azpi, Cahill and Terry have carried this team on their backs though plenty of moments this season.
