SKY TV...... biggest waste of money ever ?

Who else thinks Sky tv is the biggest waste of money ever ? I live on my own and since i have experienced paying my own bills i have come to the decision not to renew my sky contract. The Sky bill is the most irritating bill you can receive especially if you hardly watch TV like me and the only time i do is when i watch the odd documentary or the news and Chelsea on Sky Sports. 50 odd pound a month which is just horrendous, the vast majority of people only watch a few channels on Sky and the rest is just rubbish.

Some channels can be worth it but others are pointless..and doesnt help when the likes of Sky Sports and ESPN are pretty much another Man U channel with a few other teams thrown in

Have you tried going for Sky broadband aswell? If I remember right when we had sky for broadband Skysports was only an extra 99p or something like that. Anyways we went back to Virgin Media for the internet but still have some sort of top sky package.

I agree, Virgin is much better, so much reliable, better tv channels, plus good demand you get on it too, the only bitch thing is you have to pay extra for the skysports but it's worth it. Where as Sky, we have problems with it all the time, at the moment we can't record anything, can't look at information, can't pause live tv or anything. And before this problem came up, our recordings used to fail 50 percent of the time, it's a pain in the arse when you miss an episode of one of your programs such as 'The Walking Dead' for me and then it fails to record. Then they have the audacity to put the price up to 50 pound a month.

Is it just us, but after you go under about 50% of your storage space your recordings mess up.

It is a load of shite just to make more millions for Murdoch who has ruined football. Anyway anything on Sky you can find online, but heres a tip I did when I had it -if you ring up at the end of the season and say you want to cancel Skysports they give you a reduction just to stay with them. Worked with two of my mates as well

I don't get it on principle - they don't broadcast the sound of Celtic fans disrupting the minutes silence at Remembrance week or show their banners decrying the poppy - they should show them for what they are.

Its fucking shit value for money. What they show, is worth £10 a month at most. Its not even as if they show a lot of good football except for when the UCL is on. The only good thing is the cricket coverage.

i have Sky,, and watch a bit of TV tbf, and have no problems. Always seems to be something decent on.

I agree 100%.............. They put me on a 18 month contract on £53 a month so iv'e given them £954 for the 18 months i have paid them. They are a complete waste of UK household resources, i literally only watch the News and Documentaries and the odd time Chelsea are playing on Sky Sports. The vast majority of the Channels are just complete garbage, Skysports, The crime and History Channels and Skyone when Ross Kemp is on and that's it everything else is rubbish. The Documentaries i watch on Sky are on Youtube lol.

I'd the full HD package and canceled the whole lot recently due to a change in circumstances and if I'm honest I wish I had done it sooner even when I could afford it.
