francozola 2,040 Posted December 7, 2011 Share Posted December 7, 2011 Drogba was brilliant but I voted for Romeu because I was very impressed with his performance, especially considering it was his 4th match in 11 days and his first taste taste of "real" Champions League football (decent oppo, tremendous pressure before the game). He did look nervous in the first half but he has great strength of character to be able to keep going and change it.Also the third goal was all him. Terrific header to set it up. You can see that all the players around him are static. Even Meireles was signalling to him to calm the play down with a header towards the defenders or something. But he has the awareness and vision to see that Valencia players are all centered around him and Mata has a bit of space and puts that header in the perfect spot. Was a good move to play him. I can see the comparisons with Makelele, i think he's gonna turn out to be one of our best ever signings. Just hope he dont leave. The boy has everything. Even Rami, who pushed Torres around like a rag doll last time we played them, was no match.Voted for Mata. 2 assists, and he did very well defensively.I don't know about that... He was always on the wrong side of the player he was marking.He got beat a couple times - especially when Cole left him to defend alone, but for the most part he was solid.Kept his eye on runners (unlike Sturridge) and didn't make it easy for Barragan (sp) to get good crosses in.
