When JT was all over the front pages for sticking his knob everywhere, Capello took him to one side , and withdrew the England captaincy. There would have been a subsequent Capello/Fercinand conversation when Capello would have seeked an assurance that he had no skeletons in the cupborad. No, all was fine, the tabloids proudly pronounced him as a ''Family man''.

This week when his injunction was lifted that had kept the lid on, it turns out he has been having an affair behind his wifes back for 13 years

Such a shame no-one (in the media) will go on and on about it.

Even Giggs' was kept hush-hush. No fan backlash, no condemnation by other players (like Craig 'Glasshouse' Bellamy). Same thing will happen to Rio and any other United players' personal life. Meanwhile if it was discovered tomorrow Lampard was having an affair, it would be front page news and questions about his Chelsea career would be put forward.
