I won't be too excited about the Asia tour because we'll be missing way too many players and what I'm really excited and curious about the new season is how Mourinho is going to set up the team. The formation, the players, the tactics. So while it's a great change to finally watch the team again, it's not that I'm looking forward to it eagerly. I'm not into friendlies as a rule and then literally half the team is off, I feel even less excited. BUT at least it's a match.

because casillas struggled at some point and then got injured and Diego Lopez was a beast? some people complain about Cech, but I think he did very well - top level - last season. I didn't see him struggling like Iker struggled before getting injured at all.

We can't only have boys that will be good in a few years. We have tons of young talented boys now - Bertrand is not one of them - we need to add some experience. one more reason I'd welcome Baines. I rate him only under Lahm for the LB... so he's pretty much who I'd like there. We could sign Shaw some years down the road, but I think we could use some talent in the LB now and unfortunately I don't see Cole being the guy he used to be anymore

That summarizes how I felt through all last season: we didn't have a team, so we didn't act as such even though we had so many amazing players. If Ivan is saying the team will act like a team, it's because the players also felt they weren't a team. And yeah, Ivan, Mourinho is impressive. I'd give a lot of things to be part of one of his meetings with the players
