He should go on loan somewhere unless Willian is sold (which I doubt) - Willian and Pedro will be fighting for the right spot while Hazard will take the left. If Hazard gets injured, Pedro goes to left and Willian will be first choice for RW. It's unfortunate but I don't think this is a season for youth, that's maybe what Sarri meant in his recent quotes. We are learning a new system, even our experienced players are going to be adapting, it's not the right time to bring them through.

Don't believe this for a second - they should be more focused on agreeing a transfer fee before talking about how much they will pay him. I'd be happy to give Morata another chance this year but it shouldn't be as our main man up top and I doubt the club would go big for any striker without him being sold. As we all know, he does show some promising signs occasionally but I don't think he's ever going to be a prolific reliable goalscorer. He's not one to fight when things are going against him, he would rather sulk and throw himself on the floor, the complete opposite of Costa who fitted our team perfectly. Morata seems to be the type of person that's had it easy all his life and waits for things to happen for him rather than finding that bit of oomph. There are so many question marks this year, pair that with a new manager/system it's going to be an interesting season.

Willian for Martial swap, Morata out and spend to reinforce elsewhere or even keep him as a bench option which would give us great depth across that front 3. Hazard - Martial - Pedro would be a deadly front 3 imo and Giroud can come in when we need a plan B. If Morata were to stay, he would give us plan c as well, so many options there. As Pedro is ageing it would allow us to rotate that spot with some youth. It's crazy how this simple swap could make us so much stronger in attack. But I can't see us getting Martial

I think you're right about someone going out but Bailey is not the answer in my opinion. Bags of potential I agree, but he needs more time. We sell Willian for 65m and spend that on Bailey but then we suffer having to develop him for 2 years before he will bring what Willian does to the team. Rather just keep Willian for another 2 years personally. Maybe in a couple of years my view would change if management was stable etc but taking everything into account, I don't think this is a season we should be gambling on potential.

The sale of either RWF is looking less likely by the day, so don't go expecting much. I'm not suggesting a sale, I don't want to sell either of them personally. I said we should be buying some quality so Pedro/Willian are pushed to the bench, signing Bernard just cements Willians place even more.

Pjanic alternative? Sorry but I don't buy it. I know we're a mess at the moment but we don't go from targeting someone like Pjanic then end up getting someone on a free transfer because it didn't materialise. We were never in for Pjanic. Maybe all along the £60m transfer budget that was talked about early summer may be true after all, we hit that budget with 1 player and everyone else will be free transfers unless someone goes out.

I get he's free and an area we are short in and probably not a bad player... but we should be going big in that position for some real quality not some backup, we should be pushing Pedro/Willian to be backup and getting someone better.

Willian is not as easy to replace as some think. So we sell for 60m, who do we get for this money that will upgrade him and I’m not talking potential in 5 years, we need a good winger to take into the season now, not someone that might eventually be better in a few years.

This has only been so big of a story all week off the interviews they both gave after the WC, since then, nothing has been said and it's just repeated bullshit, everyone making up fees etc, with just over 2 weeks left on the transfer window, if these where going, surely we would have something more concrete to talk about by now, don't expect me to believe that we will discuss what they want to do when they return from holidays, that gives us what, less than a week to sell and replace them? Maybe you should go and look what I said when you quoted me, you said we were not desperate to sign a GK. I never once suggested we should sign Pickford for 50m+ or stick with Caballero. I don't even think we will spend 70m on Alisson, I think if we were willing to spend that much on a goalkeeper we would have gave Tibo the contract he wants.

I didn't see it happening anyway for this kind of fee - if we were prepared to pay this for Alisson, i think the club would have made Tibo a massive offer to stay, not that I think he deserves it but that's another story

I don't get what difference it makes, any club knows if we are trying to sign their GK at this point, we are desperate.
