  1. Isn't this the same 'Top Spanish Media' that said we were about to sign David Luiz?
  2. Wasn't he a doubt for this match, I think he is injured.
  3. But let us slow down here, this could an exact carbon copy of the Gerrard transfer saga, looks set to join us but death threats from Liverpool supporters make him change his mind in the last minute.
  4. Didn't he recently say he would run the whole length of his current contract.
  5. If you go on the Planet Benfica forums it seems they are as just confused about whole thing as we are.
  6. According to this blog David Luiz is staying at Benfica http://blogs.bettor....e-outfit-a54142 However like everything else take this with a pinch of salt. According to this article from the Independant a work permit has been 'accepted' despite all of the rumors of the deal collapsing. http://www.independe...ee-2195296.html
  7. According to the Telegraph and the Guardian, we have agreed to pay £25 million but only in installments, Benfica want the whole transfer paid in one go. http://www.guardian....id-luiz-benfica
  8. Most reports are saying that the negotations are still going so its not over yet. But it is becmoing more likely that a deal won't be strucked.
  9. If we are trading a player I hope its not PvA, he along with Josh is one of the few from the Chelsea youth set up that could nail a first team place full time.
  10. Actually why do you have so much hate towards Yossi? The only reason you give us is that he is 'average'. Did you have a death wish to players like Sidwell and Ben-Haim when they came to the club.
  11. And if the players go into that attitude of clubs like Bolton making us shit ourselves then of course Bolton will take advantage, the players need to start putting pressure on teams from the moment the whistle goes and not take the pessimistic views some of the suppporters give off before the game even starts. Like I said Bolton are going through a bad patch of form at a time when we are hopefully getting a winning form again. But the team won't get that form if they go to teams and play like a team deep in a regulation battle and they are about to face Barcelona... this is Bolton for christ sakes. What better way to regain our away form then the Reebok stadium? A venue we have traditionaly done well in.
  12. Don't know why everyone is being so pessimistic. You do know that in Bolton's last 8 games they have only won twice and lost 5 times. So its the perfect oppertunity to get us in a good winning form by beating a team that is also low on confidence. Not to mention we have done well at the Reebok in the decade.
  13. With Burnley's Clarke Carlise becoming the first football player to appear on the Political discussion show Question Time, it got me thinking of the semantics between footballers and intelligence. http://www.bbc.co.uk...ashire-12253366 Of course when we see the likes of Jamie Carragher, Darrent Bent and Wayne Rooney speaking to public Television interviews it does not exactly convince us that the average footballer has a vocabulary of more then just 10 words and a good general knowledge on fields such as Science or Politics; or someone who reads classical literature and can name 10 or more figures in Greek Mythology. We often to percive them as wild boys who would prefere going into expensive nghtclubs, trying to seduce Playboy models while cheating on their Wives rather then just sit down at home with a glass of wine and watch the 10 O'clock news. So can anybody name a footballer who they perceive as intelligent? Has anybody met a professional footballer and was able to have a deep and meaningful conversation that did not resort to grunts and simple lexical choices. Personally I have come up with the hypothesis that footballers from foreign countires tend to be a bit more brighter then footballers from England due to the different controls and variables of the sociolization process in the country they lived in. Such as attitude to education and norms and values.
  14. He was actually a first team starter at first, but about Jan/Feb his poor goals to game ratio meant he got the drop. Although I don't exactly understand what your post is indicating.
  15. Has anybody seen him play, what is he like?
  16. If they are so desperate why not just give toe extra 4-5 million?
  17. To be fair unlike Drogba he tends to finish one on ones 99% of the time. Problem is that he has the be the centre of the attack and with Carlo's reluctance to drop Drogba, he would simply be put in a more wider position and would be rendered useless.
  18. I'm always cautious about these speculations. Could easily be made up tosh.
  19. I'm surprised about the number of people who have become doom merchants from this transfer. Its the Winter sales, we were not exactly going to spend £200 million on players that are over valued and would see their asking prices and wages drive up dramaticly.
  20. Sky keeps saying that he won't be moving to Chelsea, despite what the BBC keeps implying. Sky did this a few days ago, keep telling us that he was not coming.
  21. Ramires for consistency and drive in the midfielder.
  22. I think Ancelotti is too scared too drop Drogba, he is scared that it might cause total anarchy in the dressing room becuase of Drogba's attitude. We need to sell him and replace him with a new striker becuase I believe he has too much player power.
