  1. Thats Kalou's 3 goal in 6 games. 1 goal every two games!
  2. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But Luiz is now suspended for Man City which means we will get slaughter by having Terry and Ivanovic in the middle and Bosingwa at right back
  3. Has Drogba really been playing well this season? For all of this talk about him bring that target manthat Torres does not have, his first touch has been horrible lately and it means we constantly give possesion back to the opisition when we try and lump it to him. And witth the new style we are trying to develope he constantly sticks out like a sore thumb and just seems to be a hinderance. We complain about Torres not scoring, but 2 goals in 10 games is not exactly covering yourself in glory for a supposdly top striker. And the worst things is this. If what his agents says is true, then I am not comfortable of giving a consistent run of games to a player who will be worrying more about where he can get that big juicy paycheck then how the team is performing. He is simply not gonna give a shit I think we should think about putting Danny up in the middle again and risk it with Kalou until we can get another winger. The transfer window is opening soon.
  4. Just money so I can survive another term at University!
  5. Well, that s the opinion of Martin Lipton, who thinks that we should make Terry, Lampard and Drogba regular starters again, play Mourinho's tactics and somehow let them lead the way and all of our pproblems will somehow be resolved ... http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/opinion/blogs/mirror-football-blog/Martin-Lipton-opinion-on-Chelsea-Why-AVB-needs-Mourinho-s-men-and-the-Mourinho-way-to-dig-himself-out-of-this-hole-article836764.html He really is fucking clueless.
  6. Problem for him was form. A bit unfortunate was that he would start to gain some form and then would get injured and it would be back to square one.
  7. Buts that what I'm sayiing, was the Belgium league just making him look better then he actually is?
  8. No,, one of the big reason Lukaku was getting noticed was becuase he had a great amount of physical strenght that is very mature for someone his age. Coupled with the fact he was playing in a weak league means he could mask any abilities he may be lacking. He is still a big risk becuase the main point is can he develope other abilities? But how can he do it if his on the reserves? Its crazy that we paid so much money forr a reserve player who might have the maximun ability of Carlton Cole. Another player who was getting rave reviews as youngster becuase of his physical strength.
  9. Good god calm down, I know you think Drogba is Jesus Christ who must be worshipped without question and Lukaku is some sort of his second coming that must be not be subject to criticism but your letting those lens get in the way in reality. The fact is that we paid £18 million pounds for nothing more then "potential" that just sits in the reserves and does nothing. Infact the only reason we got him was become he was seen as Drogba part two, and not becuase of his actual abilities. I have nothing against the guy, I'm just questioning the clubs idea of spending huge amountts of money on a player that was never going to get a starting place. The club has to justify that he is worth it and play him, and sell Drogba and Anelka to show he can step up to the plate. At the moment he looks like he was just baught for mundane reasons. Also its a pathetic excuse to say that he needs time becuase he is a target man. Infact its becuase of his stength and his ability as a target man that he was getting notice. This is a curse for people like him becuase his target man abilities have already develope but his other abilities like skill and passing take longer to fully develope. When Heskey was a youngster he was getting rave reviews becuase he had exactly what Lukaku had, strength and target man abilities that were very matue for his age. Of course Heskey is a shit player becuase his other abilities are bad. ave we just paid £18 million pounds for thhe next Heskey. I hope not. By the way, Drogba was 27 when he came, are you saying he was underveloped by that age? Pathetic excuse and a cover up of the fact that he is inconsistant in his performance. Dzeko just took 7 months tto settlle, Drogba took 2 years.
  10. If he really is worth £18 million, then why are we panicing on selling Drogba in Jan. He should be able to prove why he is worth the money. wannt him to succeed becuase like Torres, we paid a fuck load of money and its no good himm being baught just becuase he reminds people about Drogba abit.
  11. See previous post on this page. I will admit that the positions have an effect, but it still does not change the fact that we spent a lot of money for someone who I guess the board new would stay in the reserves. If Sturridge is destined for the wings and Dorgba/Torres can't get a run of form. Then surely Lukaku should be considered for the role. Like I said if we complain that Torres needs to live up to his transfer then Lukaku should be under the same pressure, getting games and showing he is not a bench warmer. But since the board thinks he is not ready then they should never have considered paying the money they did. Go for a lower price or not bother at all.
  12. If Hiddink comes back, expect to see Drogba change his mind and get a one year extention, Lampard getting a new five year contract and again the old guard still the dominate force. They will improve for a little while, then play shit and not care. Manager gets sacked and the cycle will continue. The fans will still forgive the players and beg for them to stay and it will never end.
  13. To be honest they are both petulant bastards. Who moan and complain when they are not the main man and become a liability when things go wrong. Fuck em both.
  14. I will back him, but he has to take some of the blaime for deciding that the old guard still had a place in the team and not try and give much needed changes to the squad. Having the same old guard that think they still have untouchable status because of Jose are a major cause of the problem in my opinion.
  15. Then we shouldn't have bothered. It just confirms my fears that we only bought him becuase he was hyped as some sort of Drogba mark ii, and that it was that comparison with Drogba, coupled with certain sections of the club thinking selling Drogba will mean that the sky will fall, that we baught him for that price. Not based on his own abilities but simply becuase of Drogba.
  16. Like Torres I want him to do well, mainly becuase we paid a lot of money like Torres lol. But seriously, if we decided to buy him for £18 million pounds then I see no reason why we can't just sell Anelka and Drogba in January and promote Lukaku to a regular starting place. Like Torres he has got to prove his worth even if his only 18.
  17. Then how comes we only paid £4.5 million for Romeu. Considering he also has "potential" and has league experiance with the B side. But most astonishing is he seems to have gotten a place in the first team. You see where the logic sort of fails?
  18. Hang on a minute. We keep complaining that the likes of Josh and Bertrand are not developing by being stuck on the bench. So we pay £18 million pounds for a youngster to stay in the reserves and not develope. Doesn't make much sense. Also if we are going to complain about Torres not living up to his price tag and blaming him for every defeat. Then I see no problems complaining the fact that we paid £18 million pounds for a fucking reserve player who currently has the first touch of an elephant hooked on drugs. £18 million pounds to do nothing. Does not matter if he is 18, you don't pay £18 million pounds for potential.
  19. Well Drogba has been with us for 7 years, Torres has been with us for 10 months. Of course he would have done more for the club. And despite what Drogba has done for us. Let us not forget that in his first two seasons for us at most he was an average player that scored about 10 league goals a season, and was most of the time clumsy and play acted a lot despite being the previous club transfer record holder (£24 million). So if Drogba can go from an over priced average player to one of the clubs most loved striker there is a little bit of hope for Torres. At least he hasn't slapped anyone and got sent off in a champions league final yet.
  20. If we really were entering a period of transistion, we would be releasing the older players, promoting some young players in our academy and buying new players (at least 3-4) that go straight into the first team. Unfortunatly AVB went with the fans sentiment and determination to hold on to past glories and the same players as much as possible (I remember when some on here thought the sky would fall at the thought of selling Drogba). And like Henrique said, when Manchester United has a transitional period, they get to work immediatly and never had a top 4 place in doubt. We are facing the prospect of dropping out of the top 4 and still having the same old players - transitional my arse.
  21. I will only say this - he seems to be playing really shit as soon as the high line was introduced.
  22. Spot on. But having said that AVB has to take some of the blame. Bad vibes were coming out as soon as he was saying that he would not heavily revamp the squad, when it was obvious there was a lot of deadwood. His insistance on keeping players that are past their best and still under the influence of Jose (Lampard, Drogba, Cole, Terry, Malouda) is really starting to show. I will be quite angry if we start buying 3-4 more new players in Jan becuase we should have bought them in the summer. To the people who keep saying this is a transitional period. Yes I agree with you but how is keeping over the hill players that are only being kept beucase of old sentiments and a worryingg amount of player power becuase of Jose untouchable's policy/ When Manchester United go through a transitional period they actually sell the old and get the new immeaditly and not playing soo poorly they could actually drop out of the top four. We should having been doing this for a few years. But our insistence of keeping the same players for as long as possible (for example with some people wanting Drogba, Lamprd, Terry to all retire here) is really showing. This is may not be a transitional period, bt could be a complete collapse in our team structure and potential future prospects. We could be in a situation where we can't be competative anymore (or atleast getting poor results for 5-10 years) becuase we still have Jose's players clogging up the pipes - unless you go for a dramatic rehaul and spend lots of money to build a completly new squad, then you start the transitional period. We are not in a transitional period, we are in a period of trying to cling on to past glories. A transitional period would be selling the older players, buying new ones (and promoting some from the youth academy) and giving them time to gel. When I see that 7 players who started today's match played under Jose and that five of them are over 30, we are not in a fucking transitional period. We in the middle of a thick swamp and we can't find a way out. AVB should have been more drastic at the start of the season and told some of the older ones to fuck off. But no, he kept going on about "evolution" and and not "revolution" - big mistake. We should have been evolving since 2008, but we have not and its caught up with us.
  23. I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about the people here on this forum. Could not think of another word to use at the time.
  24. Its really pathetic that people are booing one of our players scoring. Get a grip for fuck sakes.
