  1. Fuck. Bad miss but it was a really poor performance all round from Brazil throughout. The football didn't flow and the defensive errors were ridiculous.
  2. I can't even muster up the words to form an argument to this post. There is so much stupidity within it that it's practically impossible to combat.
  3. This could go the way of Sturridge or the way of Kakuta, I desperately hope it's the former. Playing regularly in the Premier League should bring on his game leaps and bounds, he has everything you need to be a world class striker. The power, the speed, the presence it's just the technical ability and composure that need brushing up on but that can only come with playing week in week out at a competitive level. I think West Brom have a potential gem on their hands, hopefully he does well for them this season and hopefully this proves to be a big step in his career, as early as it is in his career I feel that this loan is a pivotal moment for him as a Chelsea player. I think he will succeed.
  4. Terrific of true. Young, ambitious players who fit the model of what we are looking for. Practically everyone here wanted Azpilicueta before the window opened, getting him and Moses on top of Hazard, Marin and Oscar would just be such a mind blowing transfer window and great work from Roman and the board.
  5. Pre season so tough to read but Barcelona looked very good. Made use of the width provided by their wide players and they moved the ball around well. Iniesta in the first half and Xavi in the second half both looking particularly excellent. As a whole they just lacked a bit of sharpness in front of goal but that will come. Sergi Roberto also played well, as did Mascherano at centre back.
  6. No, but there is no general streams threads which Im aware of other than the one in the Mathew Harding Stand which, to the best of my knowledge, is in regards to Chelsea games.
  7. I'd like to see this, does anybody know of a good stream?
  8. Well he would get to train and play with top quality players. I think he would start a few games too, just like Marin.
  9. Would that be the worst thing in the world though? Yes he paid way over the odds for SWP but he did add a directness to our attack and he was a player who could change a game coming off the bench.
  10. I wouldn't mind seeing Oscar in a midfield 3 playing in a 4-3-3 because he would still have the freedom to roam but what an absolute waste it would be to play him as one of the pivots in a 4-2-3-1. A lot of us have watched Brazil's game at the Olympics to see Oscar play, some of us had seen him play a few times for Brazil before that. I think it's fair to say that we've all been very impressed with him but we've been impressed with him playing in a forward role, that's his position. He is a natural number 10. Sure you could put him in he double pivot and he might be fine but playing high up the pitch, with the freedom to roam around the pitch, he has caught the eye of just about everybody and, along with Neymar, has been the star of the Olympic football tournament. Playing in a double pivot severely limits the amount he can roam around the pitch, it limits him to just sitting and playing passes, which Im sure he would be good at but we have other players who can do that, we don't have a number 10 of his calibre.
  11. If you really think about it the side that played against Brighton was essentially the same side as last season, thus the problems we had last season were the same as we had in the game, only with Hazard filling in for Mata and Torres for Drogba. We wont get the true result of our new style of play until we see Torres, Mata, Oscar and Hazard all play together with players like Marin, Sturridge and (hopefully) Moses on the bench.
  12. If anyone deserves the number it's Oscar. Just like Drogba carried the team for years, I think Oscar can do the same. Not in the same fashion of Drogba, for obvious reasons, but I think he can be just as successful.
  13. He sounds excited to be joining the club and excited by what we are trying to do with the squad. Very encouraging.
  14. Give Romeu the chances and time Mikel has had and he will be twice the player. Romeu has more to his game and certainly suits a side who are trying to move the ball quicker through midfield.
  15. Mediocre players don't come from La Masia, earn an appearance for the Barcelona first team, play for underaged Spain teams and move to Chelsea. He is a very talented footballer.
  16. Good result against awkward opponents. Very good performance from Oscar, a very complete player. I definitely wouldn't fancy team GB against Brazil.
  17. Great play. Oscar to Neymar, good pick out from Neymar to Damiao and a wonderful turn and finish from the big man.
  18. Hopefully Oscar gets through this without an injury, lots of heavy tackles going in.
  19. What could Menez possibly be saying to him.
  20. Fuck it I'm gonna say it, with Drogba gone, Oscar is my new favourite player.
  21. Terrific play from Hulk, alert finish by Damiao.
  22. Great play down the left from Oscar. You see all the negatives on the Brighton match thread but then you stop and realise that this guy will be playing for us next season, it's almost impossible not to be positive.
  23. Sublime pass from Oscar to Neymar. With one swish of his boot I've gone from pessimistic to optimistic.
