  1. Ramires, with the technique of a park player.
  2. Terrific play from Atletico but it's bad, it's really bad from a Chelsea perspective.
  3. In this part of the world they are commonly referred to as Athletic Bilbao. Thus my comment. It's really rather cut and dry stuff.
  4. Those are semantics. I don't say Chelsea FC all the time, I doubt anyone does.
  5. Ben Shepard just called Atletico Madrid "Athletico Bilbao" which is not only wrong but also incorrect. (it's athletic Bilbao, not Athletico)
  6. I really thought the Moses signing would end Ramires playing on the wing.
  7. Listening to Dave Basset on SSN and it's clear that the only games he has seen/can remember of Maicon were the two against Spurs. Ridiculous that they have someone so entirely oblivious to football outside of England on their panel.
  8. Everyone talking about Azpilicueta possibly debuting tonight, any news on whether Victor Moses could feature?
  9. I'd be shocked if they managed to sign Villa.
  10. What we've learned from your comments mate is that you really don't like Neymar.
  11. Excellent performance from Atletico, comprehensive victory with a star performance from Falcao. Disasterous performance and a terrible start to Bilbao's league campaign. Bottom of the league, 2 defeats, they were all over the place tonight. Toothless up front, no control in midfield and a makeshift backline that was perplexed by Atletico's movement. Only a strong performance from Iraizoz kept the score down. Bielsa's time as Bilbao coach appears to be numbered.
  12. All the same, it will take a superhuman effort from anybody to stop Barcelona from winning La Liga and the Champions League.
  13. Looking forward to this game. Great chance to win a trophy and some interesting sub plots too with Torres playing against Athletico and Courtois playing against us. I would like to see a line up like this. Cech Ivanovic, Luiz, Cahill, Cole Mikel, Lampard Oscar, Hazard, Moses Torres Ye it's pretty unlikely but fingers crossed. No matter what the line up I hope we continue to play well and the game gives us a good opportunity to give a couple of our new players game time.
  14. Bloody hell we just won 2-0 against a very good Newcastle side and we did it in very impressive fashion, maybe that's worth mentioning more than a meaningless 86th minute substitution.
  15. First half was absolutely terrific. I wasn't sure about the line up when I saw it but I'm glad to say I was wrong, Meireles played very well in midfield and Bertrand added a really nice balance on the left flank. The movement and interchange between Hazard and Mata caused Newcastle no end of problems and Torres looked sharp and contributed in a massive way to both goals. Second half we sat back and tried to play on the counter. Liiz and Cahill were both excellent as was Mikel. But the star of the show, again, was Eden Hazard. He is a genuine star player, somebody who can change a match in an instant. His whole game is so complete, so mature. This was his toughest test he passed it with flying colours.
  16. I can't believe this is Chelsea we are watching. The skill, the passing, the movement, the control. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be this good this soon. Still Oscar, Narin, Moses and Azpilicueta to add to the squad. How can we not be happy?
  17. Bit disappointed with the line up. Obviously we are weakened with neither Marin or Moses being available, I imagine that once either can be picked then we won't see Bertrand on the flank. The Meireles one isn't do surprising, hopefully he plays well, he will have to.
  18. Any updates on this match going ahead? What are the chances of it not going ahead?
  19. I think he's done quite well. Occasionally he has looked a bit isolated but he has tried to make things happen and he is a threat to Hummels and Subotic.
  20. De Bruyne is playing as a false 9.
  21. Terrific signing in what's been an unbelievable Summer transfer window. We've well and truly rebuilt this squad and we've rebuilt it with young, technically gifted footballers. Again it's important to go back to that moment when Drogba slotted in the Champions League winning penalty, without that moment this whole rebuilding process this Summer wouldn't have been possible. Roman and the board have done a sterling job. Moses and Azpilicueta add real depth and quality to the squad as does Marin, Oscar and Hazard are two genuine star players to add to the likes of Mata and Torres. Had any of us predicted before the window opened that we would sign Hazard, Oscar, Marin, Moses and Azpilicueta all in the one window you would have been laughed off the site and been accused of playing FIFA. Jaw dropping Summer window.
