  1. Tough call, it was between Luiz and Cole for me, both superb but Im going to go Cole simply because he played the full 90. He was excellent tonight, storming down the left, he already seems to have a fantastic relationship with Mata which is a credit to the talent of both players and defensively he was solid. Luiz was spectacular, I cant think of a more exciting centre back I've ever seen play the game, he goes 100% for every ball, sometimes he doesn;t win it but when he does he wins it high up the pitch and sets us on the attack instantly and the man scores goals too, he is fast rivalling Drogba as my favourite player in the world.
  2. I doubt we will let him go out on loan no matter how bad his form is, afterall he cost 50 million and he is a household name which is pretty important for the club to have. I've always said give him a chance, he will come good. I still hope that if he gets a regular run of games in a side that also includes Mata, Meireles and Sturridge it might really help him because they are the kind of players he needs to succeed. That being said, if it were up to me and he was still in the kind of form he is now come January and Milan are offering Pato in exchange for Torres Id bet Milan's hand off, infact Id throw in Kalou to sweeten the deal.
  3. Maybe Torres has a better chance of scoring in the Champions League group stages than he does in the Premier League, its probably worth starting him. Hopefully we see Cech Bosingwa, Luiz, Terry, Cole Meireles Ramires, Lampard Sturridge, Torres, Mata btw I think the reason why Chelsea fans think so highly of Ballack was his model behaviour in his time at Chelsea, his sheer commitment to the cause (eg. his chasing and shoving of Overbo) and because he was a genuinely household name who chose to play for our club and he played quite well in his time here and unlike the traitor Joe Cole, his message to the fans upon his departure was class personified. He will deservedly get a fantastic reception on the Bridge on Tuesday night, he deserves it.
  4. Guys where is it possible to view Sopcast streams now? I used to watch them from myp2p but since thats gone where can you now find a range of sopcast streams?
  5. Im really looking forward to seeing this Chelsea forward line play together. A very marked difference from the powerhouse type 3 of Malouda, Drogba and Anelka. A very classy, skillful front 3, all with pace, all players who can dribble past the opposition and all with a lot of flair, personally I think they can drive us to win the Premier League thiss eason.
  6. At the moment when I try to open a new page on this site I get a pop up saying that the internet explorer has encountered some difficulties and needs to shut down and then it asks me do I want to send error report or not, I dont send, then a little message flicks up on the top left corner of the screen saying the tab has been recovered, or something like that. Its been like this now for a while, is there anything I can do to view the site properly again?
  7. Ye like a lot of people I want to see Sturridge, Luiz and Mata in the starting line up. Hopefully he sticks with Torres too cos the inclusion of Mata can only help him.
  8. I think if we replaced Kalou with a headless chicken, the majority of our fans would say the headless chicken is an improvement on Kalou.
  9. Id like Cech Ivanovic, Luiz, Terry, Cole Ramires Meireles, Lampard Sturridge, Torres, Mata I think that would be a well balanced, fluid side.
  10. Personally Id love to see him start, he gives us a different option in midfield, he offers creativity, and a more subtle method to our approach play which should blend in very well with the likes of Mata, Sturridge and Torres.
  11. I think Meireles is a creative player and actually fits the bill perfectly as to what AVB is looking for in our style of play, Meireles is suited to playing a quick, fluid passing game, he is an excellent passer of the ball and has an eye for a pass. Honestly the way some people are describing him you'd swear we had just signed the lovechild of Vinnie Jones and Wilson Palacios and not the creative and technically talented Raul Meireles.
  12. I wont lie, Im pretty disgusted with the reaction of some on here. We bid 40 million for Luka Modric, what more do you want? Im delighted we got Meireles, by the time it got to the 9 o clock mark I had resigned myself to the fact that we weren't going to sign anyone today, I had been hoping against hope that we would sign a creative midfielder, in an incredible twist of fate in the last half an hour we did. Im not sure what version of Raul Meireles some have been watching but the one I've regularly seen play for Liverpool and Portugal is a creative player who is technically very proficient, with excellent movement and as an added bonus is quite versatile. He is 27 which means he is just entering his peak years. Infact a recent example of his obvious quality was LLiverpool's victory over Arsenal, Liverpool were struggling to break Arsenal down, they brought on Meireles and Suarez and it was their link up play that played the decisive role in Liverpool's victory. I think he will link up brilliantly with Torres, Mata and Sturridge and most certainly adds an option to our midfield that we previously didn't have. All in all Im excited that we signed him and for a fairly low cost too, the negativity on here at times baffles me.
  13. Absolutely Im happy with some of the business we have done, Courtouis, Romeu, Lukaku and Mata are all good signings, Mata is an exceptional signing but there is no denying our first 3 games have been pretty average. Mata should help that and so should the return of Sturridge but I think a lot of us had our hopes up that we might finally sign the desperately needed playmaker today but those hopes have been all but dashed, so yes I can understand why there might be some disappointment today.
  14. Pretty disappointing that we haven't seen any movement yet, it seems the only possible signing now is Pereira and even that looks unlikely.
  15. Very impressed, always looked to take get the ball to feet even in difficult situations, clearly has a good turn of pace and is quite a powerhouse, it was very reminiscent of Drogba in his early Chelsea days.
  16. Gonna go for Ramires, the man is a powerhouse in that midfield, shades of an in his prime Essien. Honourable mentions to Mata and Lukaku, both excellent.
  17. Very tough game, probably tougher than it should have been., Started brightly, faded, conceded then sparked back into life. Clearly there is some work that needs to be done but that workload was decreased significantly upon the arrival of Juan Mata, bright, sharp, very intelligent, quick and technically as good as you like and a superb passer (as seen with his sublime ball to Ramires on the conuter), he performed a minor miracle rarely seen at Stamford Bridge by players wearing a blue jersey when he actually skipped past an opposition player in a one vs one situation, its possible the last time that happened was when Arjen Robben was playing for us. Its Juan Mata who will dominate the headlines, and rightly so, an excellent cameo topped off with a goal but the other debutant, Romelu Lukaku, was also excellent. This guy will be a big favourite at Chelsea, his power, his speed and his willingness to get on the ball in difficult situations are all of the things we like to see and his commitment to the cause is unquestionable, on a day where Drogba was stretchered off the pitch, the new Drogba has arrived. Hilario, after playing well today and playing well against West Brom had to throw a clanger in there somewhere, just to confirm it really is him playing. My pick for man of the match is Ramires, the dominant force in midfield today, his running power, his eye for a pass and his discplined defending were all essential today, he just gets better and better and right now would definitely get my vote for Chelsea's best midfielder at this point in time, the speed he displayed to win the ball for the penalty was pretty incredible. No matter who we bring in this Summer, Ramires should be a regular in the starting 11 regardless. But today is Juan Mata's day, a star is born.
  18. Guys anyone know of any decent streams? Myp2p is down but if anyone knows where to find some quality sopcast streams that would be brilliant.
  19. Ye Sky Sports prem team news saying Drogba could start, personally I think this would be a great opportunity to get Torres off the mark this season.
  20. Not an easy group for Chelsea. Valencia are a good side and should pose some problems, as too should Leverkusen and Genk will be the weakest side in the group but play some good stuff themselves. Interesting sidenotes being Juan Mata already making his return to Valencia and Michael Ballack returning to Stamford Bridge where he should get a stunning reception .
  21. Did he mention if he will be on the bench?
  22. He occasionally has his moments but his 2 performances this season have been below his usual fairly low standards.
  23. Bit off topic but Kalou has been even worse than usual this season, he has been at his absolute worst in the two games so far.
  24. Is there any chance that somebody with considerably more talent in graphics than I have could resize that pic of Juan Mata holding the Chelsea jersey to 300 high and 500 wide? Is that even possible? Im clueless when it comes to graphics.
  25. If Mata completes his move to us in time for this game then hopefully he starts because he should make a big difference to the team. Such a shame Daniel Sturridge is suspended because I think he would have made a big difference in these opening 3 games.
