Yes i am a Scouser, i have basically lived in Liverpool all of my life, that does not sway my opinion though. Even if you read into those statistics it proves my point the fact that Gerrard is even close to Lampard in attacking contribution is shocking considering the players liverpool have. Since Torres joined Liverpool Gerrards goals and assist ratio's have improved greatly due to him playing with a potent striker. Lampard struggled to play behind the striker when we had a diamond formation, Gerrard excels in that position because of his natural fitness and agility.

If you put Lampard in the Liverpool midfield he would suffer. Lampard plays with a world class target man that will flick the ball into his space, Gerrard plays with an out and out goal scorer who will not set him up as much. Gerrard would shine if he played for Sunderland, Lampard would struggle for Sunderland. Lampard needs players around him to supply his runs Gerrard has the pace and agility to do it him self !

Gerrard can do a lot more with less resources then Lampard. If lampard played for a shit team like Liverpool he would not be as good. Gerrard can do everything lampard can do but he can also track back with his brilliant pace and he has good agility that is why he can play out wide.

Yes Lampard is tactically better then Gerrard but Gerrard is better than him at nearly everything else, Gerrard has a better shot even. Gerrard can do everything in that midfield he is a pure leader of men and if he played for Chelsea it would of been incredible.

Seriously Steven Gerrard is one of the greatest most naturally talented players the English have ever produced. He is better than Lampard and that is the truth, Gerrard inspires players, he plays the game with hunger and desire plus his ability is out of this world.
