This...has....nothing...to...do...with....why...we...get....dominated. He doesn't read the game well (this is self evident when watching the likes of Bastian, J Martinez, Sergio , h he doesn't tackle well, he lets the opposition pass the ball around rather than go get it back rather than Essien (in this preseason anyway. This is the man that's supposed to protect our defense and he becomes a passenger when we get dominated.

I made a reference to that to bushman a couple of minutes ago. The original turf was terrible for everything in every sport! No one liked it! But now, even here in the rich areas, our elementary schools (5-11 years old) even have turf! This article even mentions that the turf at Lucas Oil Stadium has been voted the best surface to play on several times, something I wasn't aware of. http://www.easyturf.com/artificial-grass-industry-news/21-nfl-teams-use-fieldturf-synthetic-grass/

The football stadiums here are mostly, if not all turf now. The maintenance is a lot cheaper with turf. The only stadiums that have grass are the college, baseball, and MLS stadiums. The college stadiums are for the most part in terrible locations. The baseball stadiums have to cover up the dirt in the infield. The MLS stadiums aren't big enough for these big clubs to come play in. I don't think there's a MLS stadium that could match the 40,000 that came out tonight to watch this match. About the artificial turf: you must be thinking about the old artificial turf from 10+ years ago. The American turf is now great.
-
No that is actually real grass that they put over the artificial turf in the stadium. This is what they've been using for our friendlies in the baseball stadiums and all of the players and coaches hate it. You can google it if you don't believe me. That's why if you went and checked, the first post in the game thread for this match is me saying I wonder how they're gonna handle the field situation. The turf we have here in America is great to play on. It's softer than grass and plays a lot faster.

I assumed it'd be a 442 diamond when I saw Nando come on for Hazard because it makes sense with Mikel-Essien-Ramires forming the triangle with Mata at the top. I'm at the 75th minute of the match right now and I just saw Ba run out to the left but IDK if that's because he was giving Bertrand an outlet and that's where the space was, or if he's playing LW. Right before Ba did that, Mikel and Essien aren't more than 10 yards away from each other and Ramires is off the camera on the right. Maybe it was still the 4231, maybe it wasn't. I'll edit this post when I finish the match with hopefully more findings! Edit: It's definitely 4231 with Ba and Ramires on the wings. We were pressing the ball a bit while Inter's defenders had it and Ba ran at a defender and after he passed it, he ran back next to Essien I think and then was defending the overlapping RWB near our own box shortly after.

That's not turf, that was grass that was put over the turf in Lucas Oil Stadium. If you have never played on turf before, then you do not know turf is a LOT faster than grass.

Metlife Stadium is in East Rutherford, NJ. Home of the NY Giants and NY Jets. Everyone just calls it NY because everyone in the world knows NY. It's a million times easier and better to market something in NY than NJ.

Excuse me? The fact is when we get dominated by other big clubs, it's because of our midfield, you simply cannot argue that. If you want to, then you don't know as much as probably think you do about the sport. So what are the problems with our midfield? The fact one spot is occupied by Lampard/Ramires and the other is the the level of Mikel. He's not a world class player and it will be exposed every time we play one of the top 4-5 clubs in the world. Shaktar, Juventus, and City bossed the fuck outta us and it's because of those 2 reasons. If Ramires is going to be played in the pivot, he can't have the size of the burden that gets placed on him when he's next to Mikel because he's not really being played in a position that will make him excel. Some may say, "why does Ramires get the pass and not Mikel"? That is also very simple, he's supposed to be a holding midfielder that protects the back 4 and he does not.

Has no one made the point that SeB's statistics are being used to compare him with other CMs in a league that lacks any real depth there? The Supercup is going to show people how poor he is (in back to back games nonetheless) unless we're playing with 10 behind the ball.
-
You seem to be forgetting that as soon as '12 started, his form dipped dramatically. After playing phenomenally the first half of 11-12, he's now been "out of form" for a year and a half.

I wonder if they're putting down grass or if we're playing on the turf.

What are other teams saying about Chelsea star players
Johnny Kills replied to 1chelsea's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
I'm ashamed this post has so many likes. Your generalizations are flat out insulting and a lot of you don't understand that it's a style. We wear the shirts of players we like or just what we think looks good. If I had the money, I'd love to get that Balotelli shirt because I think it looks good but I don't even own a Chelsea shirt because I can't afford it. When I was kid, I owned at least 40 shirts from 5 different sports. -
His stunning volley vs United? The cracker against Arsenal? His corner kick assists in the dying minutes of the Shaktar, Benfica, and Munich matches? His assist to Ash in the last 5 minutes against Stoke for the game winner? The fact he has 3 assists in 2 European finals? I'm sure there's a lot more from his 1st season if someone looked it up. I know we're not supposed to personally insult people but my word some people make it really difficult.
-
Yes, because I went through every fucking game of the last 3 seasons before I found 1. How about I knew that was an example to disprove your bullshit because it's one of my favorite goals. Despite all of this, you clearly decided to gloss over the fact that you were wrong. Not only that, but you're comparing a pass that split Arsenal's defense to one that split....Tahiti's...defense. Someone also posted a pic of 1 that Ramires did this season. Carry on though.

Shurrle's conversion rate was 9%, worst in Bundesliga and supposedly 2nd worst in all of Europe...

STOP SAYING IT'S PRONOUNCED SHIRLEY!!!!! IT ENDS IN LUH!!!! LIKE LUNCH!!!!!!

He has Atletico blood him, but let's bash him anyway! I don't want Frank signing autographs for United or Spurs fans, they should fuck off. Good for Nando. However, I came in here to point out he's the 68th best athlete in the world based on salary. If we offload him it will be for a very small amount to make up for his salary demands.
-
It's doing good business. If you indicate you don't want player X, it makes it easier for the team buying him to keep the price low as he knows you don't want him. If you show he's valuable (like Mou saying he wants to work with him, the media latching onto how he may be JT's successor as captain), the price stays high and it's only at a point where you're impressed enough with the offer or you tell the other team to go fuck themselves. Wouldn't Mou enjoy telling them to go fuck themselves?
-
Do not worry about the insults. The offseason brings about the FIFA and FM kids who offer very little to an insightful conversation. I appreciate the analysis you wrote.
-
This transfer would probably come back to bite us.
-
Thank you for the analysis. I am very interested in this player for us so any and all updates are very much appreciated.
-
I agree with what you're saying about the comparison, but if you take the first part of what he said he's not wrong. Even when Oscar was in the #10, that's exactly how we can sum up his play without question.

It's funny watching every Madrid attack die when Essien touches it and inevitably turns it over.

Mourinho+De Rossi+a real striker would result in a PL title next season
