We really have to shrink that squad considerably. We need a centre-back and left-footed left-back and that should sort our incomings. I don't believe that we may end up not signing a defender and not having in the squad left-footed full-back having ditched one already. I also don't think we will sign a right winger. Conte has already shown that he doesn't like to rotate back four. Having said that, if we will indeed sign CB + LB we have 8 defenders and that's too much. Aina may end up on loan. Do we ditch Chalobah again and Mikel John Obi will stay ? I can only guess. I don't remember player from the Academy who begged for loan more than RLC now. He just needs to sort so many things, fitness level, awareness, speed of thoughts. He needs plenty of minutes. Kenedy, Moses, Pedro, Cuadrado - 2 of them should go. We have 40 games scheduled so far. I think we should go with 19-20 outfield players MAX. Remember that we went with worse numbers into 2012/13 season when we played 69 games.

You know what's the most surprising ? Conte personally called Tevez to ask him to join here but Carlito said no. And we're turning to Lukaku then. Now think about it how different are Tevez and Lukaku. Tevez is like the exemplary of second striker role, he has everything that's needed to play there on the other hand you have Lukaku who is one of the worst second strikers I can think of, he has little to none qualities to play such role. My mind can't handle it, how you can go from perfect option to play SS to the worst ?

If someone like Dybala or Griezmann or Fekir can play second striker why EH can't play there ? I think he would be brilliant there. We're Eden Hazard FC guys. And looking like wingers play in Conte system, I don't know why we should shut him on the wing.

Shame. We spend 2 months chasing this guy last season only to discard him next year. He was by far the most purely talented defender we have and absolutely unmatched in terms of pressing resistance and looking for passing lanes instead of hoofing the ball. But looks like we're allergic to those traits ! I've seen enough of him to think that he can be classy player. But we're assessing him terminally after he slotted into the worst Chelsea defensive structure in the last 20 years, in the age of barely 21 and without pre-season with the club, joining the club that was already collapsing when he signed. Go figure. Having said that, I was opposed to signing young full-back in the first place but if we did that why not stick with it longer than this nightmare 12 months for the club ? We should really still have Filipe here. Doesn't get better than this. Now what ?

So how the hell Chelsea let Ola become free agent ? Signing up your own youngster should be the easiest thing in the world. If he had good enough offers elsewhere in terms of money/guaranteed playing time he'd be gone. What happened was that Chelsea released John Swift and Ola Aina, Swift went to the other club to develop his career. Aina probably thought he will get better offers than the ones he got so eventually resigned on more reasonable wages with more reasonable playing time demands. And that's all that happened.

He was released just like John Swift, was looking for the new team but Celtic couldn't give him guaranteed playing time/money or bit of both and he certainly lowered his demands and eventually was resigned.

@Pizy you're overreacting massively. So far there are encouraging news only, Chelsea put a huge bid which Napoli haven't rejected plus there are searching for new CB already. That's not a bad news.

Pogba sneaked into the World XI ahead of Rakitic/Vidal last year and is going for world record fee. Stellar job by his agent. Mino Raiola is going to pocket hefty bonus on this one but I think he is right to hold them to ransom as he is due every penny he will get. He's done brilliant job for Juve/Pogba creating an image of good/occasionally very good player as if he was Xavi, Zidane, Lampard rolled into one.
