  1. I would imagine because he has deluded himself into thinking he will start games. Demanding the world famous number 10 shirt in football history and tradition was an indication, but his additude towards liverpool is another. He is talking shit about his previous club because he didn't start enough games, so he's arrived here and requested a first team number. Letting us all know how he treats the clubs that don't play him and treat him like the number 10 god almighty that he is.
  2. exactly, it would have been awkward if they had said no. i can guarantee you a player of benayoun's quality wouldn't dare demand the famous number 10 at a club he thought was important.
  3. peter osgood's number 9 should also be reserved, until a super striker comes along or one of our youth players starts to make an impact.
  4. jose' before the inter game, greeting the players in the tunnel.
  5. and i make the pele, maradona etc reference because they are famous number 10's.
  6. because a player of his quality shouldn't be complaining publicly about previous managers, if benitez wasn't getting the best out of messi or c.ronaldo i could fully understand. he should leave benitez alone and stop running his mouth.
  7. true, although we did sign the almighty benayoun who thinks he is the best player at chelsea by declaring himself our maradona, pele & messi by demanding the number 10 shirt. .... so it's not all bad.
  8. Exactly, he seems to like bitching and snitching about his previous club. No wonder he requested the number 10 shirt.. pure arrogance and self delusion.
  9. Middlesbrough tring to be bayern munich. wonder if adriano can make a comeback at roma..
  10. why is that bad.. reina is clearly a character in the camp. i remember back in the day when i used to play for my local team, our biggest character was a substitute who never played.
  11. it does, it's just faded. on last years though it was yellow & black.
  12. the badge has blue/red in it this time, which is a good thing.
  13. nice.. it's not mind blowing, but it's better than the last one.
  14. Carlo wants united to sign him, because balotelli could fuck up the united dressing room and team spirit.
  15. nice bit of banter, shows they are human and not just corporate robots who train and do nike commercials. would be good to see him at barca.
  16. we shouldn't mess with the current formula.
  17. yea, he's staying at liverpool then. meh.. rather have aguero.
  18. it was a reasonable assumption. .... i somehow doubt they tied him up and forced him to take the number 10 shirt, and when he refused they tortured him.
  19. i have assessed the positives and feel the negatives outweigh them.
  20. benayoun thought he was a big enough player to dare to ask for the number 10 shirt, clearly he thinks he's bigger than the club and thinks he's a guaranteed first team player. those doubting this are looking at the matter through a very one dimensional view.
  21. 11 is an acceptable strikers number, benzema is 11 for madrid as well but sidwell and boulahrouz wearing peter osgood's number 9 on the other hand is nothing short of a disgrace. a player like kakuta or even a big name signing would have really benefited from having the 10 shirt imo, in more ways than one.
  22. well if that is the case we won't be signing any big names, kenyon may have left but every big club saves first team numbers for planned upcoming signings.
  23. possibly, i would imagine they literally asked benayoun what number he wanted, and he asked for the number 10. If he considered chelsea a big club he wouldn't have had the guts to pick that number. I can imagine it now.. smiling like a cheshire cat as he took the most famous first team number in football history.
