Great idea, offer a fringe player who can barely get into the squad double Luca Modric's wages. This is beyond baffling.

He would be in the same position he is in now at Malaga (if they invest further in the squad), Real & Barca = United & City. Except Malaga/PSG will be able to pay him far more in wages. The current state of affairs must be concerning for him, apart from financial gain, there was no point in leaving Valencia.

Real Madrid, PSG, Malaga.. who knows. He left Valencia to lift silverware and be successful. If he wants a bigger paycheck one of the above clubs will certainly offer more than he would receive here. Roman better dig deep in January/summer, or Mata’s tenure will replicate that of Robben.
