  1. In fact, 90% of people who wear them over here would most likely not be able to tell you which american sport they participate in.
  2. ^ Yankee hats are a fashion item over here, 98.9% of the people who wear them (and in many parts of the world) have never seen a baseball game before in their life.
  3. I'm an admin/mod on other sites/forums. The second I signed up on here however, I 'consciously' made the decision to never be a mod from the first post I made. Besides, taking into consideration the expansive community we have on here, such a 'formal' role would handicap certain members.
  4. Unfortunately this is what’s going to happen, Hazard being our only major signing doesn’t exactly reek of ambition though does it, considering where we ended up in the league last season. Cabaye turns 27 in January, paying over £20m for him would be insane. We need a Lampard replacement now, he can't be the first name on the team sheet for 38 games, as Meireles must remain a squad player.
  5. That's not true at all, sites like goal.com pick up on all types of trivial shit. The news of his jersey number means Chelsea fans can start placing orders, it's a multi-million pound industry. So naturally for a signing of this nature, it would certainly be big enough news to reach these shores.
  6. There are no quotes anywhere. You do realise if he said that, 'either in print or audio', it would be on Sky/BBC etc like wild fire!.
  7. Kenyon was smart and understood the marketing importance of numbers. Hence why he upset Gallas by giving in to Adidas/Ballack's representatives, by switching his number to 3 without his permission.
  8. That paper was reported on a chelsea blog, it was only a short article and they were merely 'specultating', no quotes.
  9. It's not even debatable tbh, he cost over £30m, he will be a first team player, and there is only 1 first team number available...Simple logic. It would be absolutely unacceptable if he ended up with any other number under the circumstances, Kenyon would certainly be rolling in his grave.
  10. Thibaut Courtois is number 13, he reserved it upon signing.
  11. That looks to be the case, on the second picture there is a big space between the stands and the ad boards. Yet from the other side there is no space between the one-tier stand and the ad boards.
  12. If you look at the first picture, the tier that appears too far away from the pitch is the one-tier kop style stand, the other 3 are actually close to the pitch.
  13. It's not being ungrateful, I wasn't attacking any current mods. The point is that people shouldn't see this is as an accolade. Especially as it would handicap particular members (LDN take notes), as I've already alluded to. The legend tags were a great way of acknowledging people.. minus the chores. Plus they seperate the spammers/freeposters for newcomers browsing the forum, it would most likely eradicate the problems we've been having on here lately.
  14. Moderator status 'on this forum' restricts what you can say, it would handicap a number of members, myself included. Bring back the Legend tags, award members with recognition.. minus the chores.
  15. Why is being a mod seen as an accolade?, being a 'Legend' is an actual accolade, which is why people resorted to fighting over it, which led to it being scrapped. Being a mod is essentially just 'work', like a job, and you get a really ugly purple badge too.
  16. In regards to the outside, once the surrounding area is redeveloped it 'should' look great.
  17. Only idiots don't want that. It would be pretty ridiculous to sign a player destined for the first team for £30m+, and REFUSE to give him the only first team number available. Raúl's famous number 7 was given to someone else within seconds of him leaving, ffs.
  18. Looking back, Pokemon really was the ultimate kids franchise. They covered all bases and were 'equally' successful in all of them, whether it was cards, cartoons, games, movies. Trying to resist the temptation to dig up my old cards/gameboy games for the nostalgia trip. It would be pretty counter-productive though.
  19. Yea, Pokemon was legendary, card trading, the cartoon show ("Whoo's that pokemon?"), gameboy/gameboy advance games, pokemon blue, red & yellow.
