Probably so that he can have a buyout clause of £100M or more. Which means Mata is ours for a long time.
-
Can also create chances and link up with play very well. If he does become available for a six month loan, I just hope Chelsea would jump at the opportunity. It seems like a much more sensible option than splashing out on a player in the January transfer window, a player that our next manager might not even want.

I would take Lewandowski. Great finisher, great all-round player, great off the ball movement and can link up with play very well. And he's proven in the Bundesliga, which is similar to the EPL in a lot of ways. Of course, all of that is assuming Dortmund would accept a bid and he would want to sign for us.

I don't think Falcao deserves to be put in the same bracket as Messi, Iniesta and Ronaldo. But that's just my opinion.
-
Exactly, of course money is a factor. It's highly unlikely that Cavani will leave, we all know that. There are many players who can link up play and put away chances that cost less than 30 million. I just don't think it's true when people say we need to spend 50 million or so on one player to fix our problems. Sure, Falcao would help, but he's not the only option we have.

I don't care we sign a big name player like Falcao or Cavani. I don't care if it's a big name like Falcao or Cavani.I just want a striker who can link up well with our midfield and can put away chances when under pressure. If they do a good job of that then we will be a much better team.

I can't see him getting the captaincy, to be honest. What I think is more likely to happen is his contract will run out without him being offered a new contract once he turns 30.
-
Falcao isn't exactly versatile as to where he can play and we all know he's not going to win his place over Messi. Plus there is the money issue, like you said. There have been rumours of Barca signing Llorente as another option if they need to change their play for a game their having difficulties in, but Llorente wouldn't cost €60M. I can't see Barca signing Falcao as a back-up plan. Also, his passing isn't the best. And they already have David Villa who can't even make it into the starting 11 for most games. This is possibly the most bizarre transfer rumour I've heard in a while.
-
We're talking about a man who was asked the question 'What can you tell us about the rumours of you joining a Premier League club?' during the summer. His reply: 'Forza Napoli!' I would be shocked if Cavani leaves Napoli in January or the summer.

Pellegrini is an amazing coach. I have A LOT of respect for him. What he has done at Málaga is incredible to be honest. He hasn't been paid since the start of the season and neither have any of the players, but he still gets them to play with their hearts every week. They have a very small squad at the moment, but he has still got them to the knockout phase of the CL, going unbeaten in the group stage and playing fantastic football. They're also fourth in La Liga at the moment, which is great considering they're playing a lot of games this season with a small squad. If Abramovich wants Guardiola so badly and wants to play football like Barcelona, then Pellegrini is the best back-up if that goes wrong and we don't get Guardiola.

Exactly. Even if you or don't believe in it though, I can't help but think about the players who do believe in destiny and God. Let's take Drogba for example, how did his beliefs affect him and his performance? I don't think he would have been as committed if it wasn't for his beliefs, but of course his mentality as a person ties into it too. I wonder, would Drogba have scored so many vital goals in finals for is had it not been for his beliefs? Especially that goal in the Champions League final. So in a sense, it's quite possible that destiny helped us in that way.

There are many problems with the team right now. But yeah, I do agree. Falcao would solve the striker problem but he wouldn't solve all of our problems, like you said. I wouldn't be disappointed if we signed Falcao, I would probably be excited actually. But I am still against the idea of splashing out €60M on one player.
-
I guess I'm just different to you then. When we won the double under Carlo, I could see many problems developing which probably stopped me from enjoying that season to fully. And look where we are this season. Those problems carried on form then, and now we have a few vital problems that need to be fixed. I can see United having a massive downfall after two or three more seasons.
-
You are right of course. Especially when you say it won't solve our problems, but will cover them up. But for how long will it cover them up? And covering those problems up is not a long-term solution. If I was a United fan I would be terrified right now. Their dependance on Van Persie is ridiculous. What if he gets injured? I don't know. Depending so much on one player would terrify my.

Great win for Real Sociedad against Sevilla tonight! Unbeaten in the league in 7 matches now and up to 7th place in the table. Ruben Pardo was fantastic again. I wish Chelsea would sign him. He's such an under-rated player, he would be very cheap and could well be the holding midfielder we need. He's very creative and has a lot of vision. I doubt Chelsea would consider signing someone that doesn't have a big reputation though.

I would love to read an article with Neymar in it, and a 'Neymar or Falcao' article will be interesting, and good to see your take on it. Do it!
-
You think so? I actually find him more similar to Oscar, but with a more attacking mentality. But I agree, Willian is different. But for €30M, I'm not so sure.

I wouldn't get so ahead of yourself there mate. I have nothing against you personally and I've only been here a short amount of time, but for the amount of time I have been here most of your posts seem to be you childishly arguing with anyone who disagrees with you. And who gives a fuck about how many posts they have or rep? Really?
