  1. Why should it be Joe Cole that has to be on half what everyone else earns? Chelsea made their bed and now they have to bite the bullet and lie in it. If they hadn't set up such a ridiculous wage structure to start with they wouldn't be in the position they're in now. But seeing as they thought it was ok to bend over while Lampard and Terry took what they wanted, they'll have to live with the consequences of that. Obviously I'm not suggesting Joey is of quite the same calibre or standing at the club as either of them, but is £80,000 or whatever the latest figure is really on a par with £140,000 - £150,000? Joey's our most honest (and loyal) player and he isn't even trying to hold the club over a barrel here, he just wants some parity, which is completely justified. If the club aren't careful though, they'll lose him and he'll be a far more dangerous player if he ends up somewhere like United.
  2. I won't be stamping my feet or having too much of a go at the players in case Ian Wright's listening, but fuck me, that sort of performance won't keep us top of the table for very long.
  3. Inspector Clouseau's point is that Essien should have been ineligible against them as well - obviously if Essien had missed the Arsenal game, Cesc wouldn't have conceded the foul that led to Didier's FK that buried them 3-0. Honestly, I've nursed patient's with less serious persecutory beliefs than Wenger's!
  4. Which might have been why I said we need a win to get back on track?
  5. Well, well, United fail to capitalise on our slip up - that's a nice turn up for the books :champions:
  6. I'm probably one of our most cynical supporters but let's get some perspective. Ok, so it's four games without a win and looking a little too reminiscent of last season for comfort but having a look at those games: We'd made wholesale changes against Blackburn in the Carling Cup and still fought our way to penalties with ten men, shit happens. The Apoel game came down to Mikel being sloppy but that aside, we were by far the better side on the night. Again today, we were the better side. Everton defended well and we fucked up on set-pieces but in all honesty, Everton had a large helping of luck. The only game we really didn't deserve anything out of was against Citeh and every side, no matter who it is, will have a bad day at the office and get punished for it. Quite apart from all that, this time last year under Scolari we were utter shite, playing like a bunch of losers. We're not doing that this season. Ok, so Ancelotti really has needs to kick our defence up the arse and we need to address our long-standing problem with set-pieces (because that's not a new thing) but that aside, we just need a win to get us back on track.
  7. Won't be holding my breath for a Villa win, United are way too good at coming back from behind. Besides, Villa's record against them speaks for itself. We had our chances to pull away from United in the last week and blew it!
  8. Two points gifted to Everton AND United. Fucking lightweights.
  9. Cole off for Malouda? Surely he'd have been better off coming on for Cech today?
  10. Yay, we defended a set-piece, thank the Lord!
  11. Oh you are fucking kidding me here! WTF is Petr Cech on?? FFSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
  12. Drogba's nothing short of phenomenal this season.
  13. It's only a 'minimum' of 3 minutes - sometimes it works for us, sometimes against. Our defending at set-pieces has been shite for a long time now. It's cost us a lot of goals lately and it's highlighting the fact that Cech aint half the keeper he used to be. Have to agree we've been by far the better side, but yet again sloppy defending costs us.
  14. we're so SHIT at defending set pieces
  15. Got a feeling it'll be a draw today, bloody hope not obviously. Btw anyone read Joe Cole's interview in the Daily Mail? Top bloke.
  16. This'll probably be the most unpopular post on here, but seriously, will you lot take the blue specs off for a minute and have a look at the 'performance' we put in? We were so fucking off our game today we made the draw specialists look good. Instead of the 'wounded animal' you'd have expected to come out fighting after we at least battled our arses off mid-week, we turned up whingeing and whining like little bitches. Ok, so Webb's a dickhead of the highest order but bad decisions happen week-in-week out in the Premier League and a side is either big enough to take it on the chin and get their heads together, or they'll act like petulant, arrogant fuckers, and lose in the manner we did today. Both Ashley Cole and particularly Didier Drogba showed shades of their former selves most of us would rather not be reminded of - mouthing and bitching at every opportunity, Cole's back turned to the ref, Drogba standing over an injured Bridge moaning about a nothing brush of the shoulder he'd somehow been 'injured' by earlier. Shameful. Fair enough, Citeh got away with fouls time and again whilst we were getting booked for some nothing challenges (oh and Carvalho's a total cock for the needless kick on the Argie midget) but if we're going to challenge for the title rather than fall apart like we did at exactly the same stage as last season, then our players need to drop the 'victim' attitude and fucking earn it.
  17. Another good result, 17 goals in 4 is bloody amazing stuff from us - great to see us taking more of our chances. As for Liverpool - a total disaster area, lol. Fantastic to sit and watch them completely fall apart.
  18. I'm hearing Drogba went down with no contact - I bloody hope he didnt becaue it certainly looked a pen to me and the move deserved better than that.
  19. To be fair to Hilario, he had a bit more to do than just the Gerrard save, lol.
  20. Ha ha, not sure which comment was the funniest there, lol.
  21. You'd seriously give Drogba MoM? Yeh ok, he had two assists and was as much of a pain in the opposition's arse as ever but he could've done a lot more damage if he stayed on his feet for more than 50% of the game. To have his own captain have to go and tell him to get the fuck up should've told him he was an embarrassment but apparently not, because he just kept doing it. And the flip side to that was that when he could have won us free-kicks in decent areas for being genuinely fouled, the officials didn't want to know - and who could blame them? His theatrics have crept back in again the last couple of games and that's why he'll never get the respect he really should do as a player. Personally, despite having digs at him before this game, I'd give MoM to Hilario. He didn't have to do much but when he was called on, he did exactly what he needed to. Great save from Gerrard at the end and all.
  22. Good work from Hilario. Fuck you scouse bastards. GET INNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!
