Everyone pressed against Arsenal, and a lot of the time that was high up the pitch. But I agree we need more of it on the pitch and that's something the players are still getting to grips with. Schurrle is getting there after 6 months here and hopefully Salah follows suit next season. It's very much a building process and I think Ramires is currently a necessary evil, but I really hope that doesn't continue into next season. I'd like to think we have ambitions for more in midfield quite honestly.

Maybe you should try watching the sodding matches and see the new style we're building rather than looking at the result and getting your dick hard whenever you see us have a dodgy result. I swear you only ever pipe up when we've had a loss and the gleeful reaction is utterly pathetic. Yet you still want trophies now....grow up. We had trophies over the last couple of years but were ultimately directionless which was more detrimental to youth development than anything else. Now we actually have a solid core being built and that's when you can start incorporating young players. The fact that you're using Bamford as an example shows how little you actually understand the current situation. His development has been handled perfectly thus far. He's made the step up asked of him and fingers crossed he'll do it again. Chalobah actually might have a chance next year because we now have Matic in midfield so there's a solid partner for him. But the simple fact is that you never wanted Jose here and you've put your ego ahead of wanting what's best for this club, and you're so far out of touch with the majority of Chelsea supporters that I know it's not even funny. Your impudent whines of 'trophy now' belong in a creche, not a football club. -
The lack of Oscar for the first-half is probably more to do with that than Ramires. It's much too easy to look at today's result in isolation, and ignore the demolition job we did on Arsenal or the ineffectivness of Ramires in the Villa (and numerous other) game.

In short - Jose cost us the title by loaning out Lukaku.

I'll take the Russian guy who lives and dies with every kick of the ball rather than being one part of a middle-eastern conglomerate who have about as much interest in football as they do English supermarkets.
-
The guy's had a good season for us. He's scored important goals and he's been a cornerstone of the team, but I think we definitely need to look to get someone in on the left-side to allow Azpi the chance to move back to the right. Can't think of many better right-back/centre-back covers going into next season.

Fuck off does he. We have a guy here who is being afforded the chance to build something that lasts longer than a season. The impatience some people show is ridiculous. -

Let's be honest, there's been a few games that could've gone that way this season. We should probably have been having this type of discussion after the Everton game but for the late goal. We do need a bit more grit in the team, especially up front. Hazard, Schurrle, Willian, Oscar....a bit too choirboyish. Maybe we need a big old cunt like Costa up there to beat teams down a bit. -

Because it's not just about one season but something being built for the next few seasons. Jose said we wouldn't win it so it's not like he's under-delivered. What we have is a very stable platform to build on, mainly in the striking department. The simple fact is that the Torres deal has held us back for three years now. -
On their day, any team can upset another team. Cardiff did it to City, Hull did it to Liverpool and every cunt has done it to United this season. There are no easy games (except for Arsenal at home).

No, he's a decent Chelsea supporter like the vast majority of people on this forum. You know what you are. -

You're the biggest joke on this forum and probably everything wrong with the success that this club has had in recent years. -
This is what happens when you play in one of the most competitive leagues in the world. That's what makes it so beautiful. You're just a advertising board for some middle east country. Enjoy.

No fucking chance. Liverpool winning the title would be horrendous on every single level. City are going to contend no matter what but having those murdering cunts celebrate a title would be a sickening sight.

Yes. In fact his crossing has been pretty good for the last couple of months, but that all gets forgotten as the toys get thrown out of the pram.

Simply papered over the cracks. What we have now is a proper team being built and stability. If you would rather have Rafa Benitez in charge taking us to a Europa League then goody for you. This club is in the best shape it's been in for years.

Same problem that's been there all season. No striker. Eto'o papered over the cracks but the obsession with getting Rooney has ultimately cost us. Next season was always the target and hopefully city finish above Liverpool. We're a work in progress, Jose's said it from the start. -
Because with Ramires in the team we wouldn't lose 1-0 away to a lower team???
-
£64 million for such silky interplay between Fellaini and Mata
-
Doesn't every club need quality players approaching their prime who are available for decent money? We don't 'need' Marco Reus because we have Hazard but if he was available for £12 million you'd buy him every time wouldn't you? Well here we have one of the best DMs in Europe, a colossus for the mighty Nigeria, a giant in Munich restricting Bayern to just 34 chances and a man picked by so many Chelsea managers. And how do Real Madrid not need him? His pass completion % is higher than all their midfielders. Luka Modric might seem like a good player but his pass completion % is 0.2% lower than Mikel's. That's why Modric has never won the Champions League like Mikel. Maybe they offered us a swap deal for him and we told them to fuck off. Didn't your favourite player used to be Mikel? Why have you deserted him?
-
Surprised no really top teams are in for him. I mean he's been picked by all these great (and sacked) Chelsea managers and he was brilliant against Bayern Munich in 2012. Why aren't Real Madrid or Barca or Bayern or Arsenal or Liverpool or Atletico or Juventus or United in for him? Have they not seen the annotated diagrams that show he is one of the top defensive midfielders in the world?? :carlo2:

When they came up against one another in the Champions League, Costa scored and Balotelli managed to argue himself into a yellow card....one that would have seen him banned from the 1st leg of the next round. He's not becoming more mature. I'd love it if he would because then he'd be worth a punt but at the moment he is wildly inconsistent. You yourself admit that Costa has stepped up this season whereas I don't think the same can be said of Balotelli. As for the nationality thing, who gives a fuck? If the guy feels a greater affinity with Spain than Brazil then good luck to him.

I do sometimes wonder if people forget where we were just a year ago. Rafa's appointment was one of the worst moments I've ever had supporting this club and the Europa League really doesn't make up for that. The atmosphere at matches was toxic, we were directionless and really weren't going anywhere. Now we not only have a manager that we all love, but we have a clear path laid out for us. There's a spine to this team being built with truly world-class talent stepping up and performing week-in and week-out. This year was never about the title, but laying the foundations for the next 5 titles.
