  1. Where the fuck have I said that? I've just reacted to the naysayers who are saying it would be an upset if we won, which it definitely wouldn't be. I don't have imperialistic views by the way. I just don't like snivelly little shits who call Chelsea supporters plastic, but you can paint that anyway you want. Here's my view - PSG is going to be a tough tie but I think we're a good enough team with a great enough manager to beat them without anyone batting an eyelid. They have some good players who have gone to a team that pays well but we have top players who want to challenge themselves in one of the top leagues in world football.
  2. I didn't say the Premier League is the best league - I said it's one of the best. Bale went to La Liga from this league, he didn't go to the French leagues which is more related to the point I'm making. As for this club's history, I wouldn't swap it for any other club's. Again, that seems to be a point that you and a few others are bringing up for fuck know's what reason. If you think Hazard just plays for us for money then you're fucking delusional. It's a factor, but there's also the prestige that goes along with playing in the Premier League. Sportsmen have a mentality of wanting to beat the very best. It's what drives the very best ones on. Playing in France doesn't provide them with that.
  3. There is an awful danger that PSG might seek out some help from Bayern's coaches after our experiences of playing them recently. Wouldn't be the first time the French have willingly collaborated with some Germans.
  4. Your ability to regurgitate the type of shit that anti-Chelsea numpties spout is unmatched. We have history, 109 years of it in fact. What we have less of is trophies, not history. You don't understand. PSG is still a club in France. That's what it will always be. Now they might have a good chance at winning the CL, but so do clubs in better leagues. Now there are some players who will take the money Monaco and PSG offer and have a go at the CL but play in a forgettable league. But players like Ronaldo, Messi, Hazard etc. have that burning desire to play at the top level week-in and week-out, not just on European nights. I don't begrudge those players who choose to take a big paycheque in an easy league (Zlatan's stats have never looked better) but we have players who want to play in a top league, for a top club every single week.
  5. Ajax has five years more history than us. Liverpool has 13 years more (plus a higher bodycount). That's the only measure of history that I could give a fuck about.
  6. It's amazing. We draw a French team and some of our own supporters decide to surrender immediately!!
  7. So Monaco's players go to Monaco for the atmosphere and not for the money?? Good on them, especially Ricci and Claudio. Monaco is probably one of the best places on Earth to retire to and that's what these players have opted to do. If the under-20 talent is any good then they'll do what all great players in France do - leave.
  8. People go to Real Madrid because it's Real Madrid, because they play in one of the top leagues in the world and because those things have a strong monetary value. Players are going to PSG because of money. Top players with ambition don't go to the French league. Zidane, Henry, Ronaldinho, Drogba, Hazard, Varane, Zouma, Barthez etc. didn't choose to spend their best days in France for a reason.
  9. Park the bus? That's the type of thing the anti-Chelsea bunch were saying about us going to Man City. We'll prove you wrong again.
  10. Oscar played against West Ham away when we played 433. It's simply that we haven't played that formation much. Because Zlatan wouldn't earn hundreds of thousands of Euros playing in a TOP league. It might not be as much, but you have to be less naive about players (and their 'peoples') reasons for doing things. I'm not begrudging them that choice (Eto'o made a similar one and JT rinsed more than enough money out of us) but these players aren't playing in the French league because it's the best competition in the world. As for being 'brainwashed' by a 'Premier League' bubble, isn't that a bit rich coming from a Brazilian with no connection to Chelsea Football Club whatsoever?? There's a reason you're on this forum, because the Premier League is one of the top leagues and Chelsea is one of the top clubs and because marketing men TOLD you to support this club.
  11. Am I infringing on your copyright? Surely there's something you could find to moan about right now?
  12. No-one thinks that. You and lionsden need to actually read what people type.
  13. Zlatan, Thiago Silva etc. are all top players who could play in a top league, but they don't. They're in Paris because there's plenty of non-FFP compliant money to be had. Plus it's great for their reputations to put in world-class performances on the flattest of wickets. It's like when Eto'o went to Anzhi - I don't begrudge him that because the paid him a fuckload of money, but they're not testing themselves against the toughest opposition week in and week out. PSG might be top of the league but who's second? A team who play in front of one man and his dog and are only where they are because of a joke tax system. Because it's bullshit to say that they aren't playing in a less prestigious league because they earn more for less work. That's not a criticism - any of us would probably love a similar deal - but lets not pretend that winning the French league is on a player's bucket list.
  14. Football supporters. I wouldn't say they're better as a unit (or team) in the slightest. They're a group of individuals playing for one reason - money. We're a team, a proper club. I'm glad we got PSG too, but I'm not scared of them. They've got some great players but we've got some great men, some real leaders.
  15. Are you serious? PSG are a group of individuals playing in a second-rate league for money. We're a proper team, with players who have been there and done it and still have the drive and desire to prove themselves at the very top level. We're favourites for this tie for a reason.
  16. I agree. I'd love to see them at the Bridge with Ronaldo and also Ancelotti. I have no expectations of us winning the CL, although I think we can beat any team on our day and no-one will want to play us.
  17. Normal position, harassing Arteta who is their main playmaker.
  18. I think there's also a chance Lamps goes above Ramires in the pecking order. It's always been the case that Lamps has been better with the ball but Ramires's defensive work has been what has kept him in the first XI. However Matic is a beast defensively (statistically as well as just looking phenomenal) and his arrival has seen Ramires's defensive contribution stats fall off a cliff. I don't know if we need Rami in the team as much as we used to, plus Lamps is actually very underrated defensively. Managed properly and played alongside Matic I think Lamps can most certainly contribute in a more effective manner next season.
  19. Huh? If the opposition are committing men forward and leaving space then why wouldn't we be able to score with just Costa up top? In fact it's been when teams defend deep late on that Eto'o has provided very little for us. Look at the West Ham game for example and how we could've done with a more direct presence in the box. If we got Costa then you'd expect him to start 75% of the games, which only leaves 10 or so starts for the other strikers. We had trouble accommodating Drogba and Torres in a one striker system so having three just seems like overkill.
  20. This is about tying down a player who has world-class potential to a longer-term contract, and rewarding players who perform for the club in the right manner. I can't quite fathom how anyone would object to him receiving a pay increase if it keeps him here for a few more seasons whilst also sending out a message that he isn't for sale in the clearest terms.
  21. Jesus...they only beat Olympiakos The way Sky are talking you'd think he'd outplayed Bayern.
  22. Ramires is too stupid to man-mark a player. The best choice for doing that type of job is almost certainly Oscar anyway. I actually think our aspirations lie beyond parking the bus and actually trying to dictate the tempo of a match. I wouldn't trust Ramires to dictate a memo.
